Housing Woes

It feel unfair for the first time house buyer when trying to buying a plot, camping outside with other hopefuls , only for them to be dashed by someone relocating to it or having to wait the rng timer to decide it you are worth yet for a house.

I understand the reasoning behind the timer, but couldn't they come up with a system like a waiting list so if plot does pop up you given a chance to buy them(or something like that i don't know), since it is clear that housing is still a problem and many people still want to enjoy it

and yes I'm aware of the apartments, and there not the same, esp if you want your other half to be tenet in one.

Despite that people saying that "fans asked for it", I surely didnt ask for random rng hidden based timer to have people fight over it.

It's very important and sad to know how a minor content of the game is more stressful than the main content of the game.

Honestly... first-time home buyers need to just buy whatever plot is open first, then worry about getting their dream plot later. Relocating is really the only reliable method to getting the plot you want.

As Numenor says, don't wait for a specific plot to open. Buy whatever is available. That way you can relocate when something you like better appears.

If you're on the high pop realms where getting any property can be difficult, relocation doesn't change the number of plots available since that player's old plot now goes up on the market. With the way the timer system works, it might actually be available for purchase before the one you were camping would have been available. Just chat up the old owner and find out what plot they used to own.

Right. Let's all wait for 12-24 hours not going to work or focus on real life to fight over a plot. Sure.

Honestly, most people think this system and Square Enix is doing fine because they either own a plot that they want or just don't care to have housing and want new contents instead of fixing minor contents. That applies to PVP too.

I don't think most people believe the system is "doing fine". I think they believe the system is an improvement over what it was before.

Without the timer, that house likely would have been snatched up by a reseller the moment it became available and then people would have to checking reddit to see who's willing to relinquish their property for tens if not hundreds of millions of gil. At least this way it has a chance of making it into the hands of someone who's actually going to use the house and not just flip it for profit.

You want a house? We've got over 600 available on Coeurl right now. There were a dozen mediums available when I did my census last week, including a couple that had bottomed out on price. You don't have to spend 12-24 hours of your life fighting to get a house. You just have to be where they are available in the first place. Somewhat like real life - you want to own a house instead of rent or you want a real job instead of unstable part time work? You move to where the houses and jobs are available.

You are the architect of your own misery when you will not do what is necessary to get what you want.

If you honestly think the system is not working properly due to being able to relocate, you clearly haven't been around for a while or you just don't get it. Being able to transfer an FC house to someone else has been around ever since housing exists in this game and nothing's changed. You can still have 8 FC houses per account on top of 1 personal house. How is that supposed to hinder reselling plots in any given way? ;)

On the same server? I thought it was one personal and one fc per server.

The restriction on the amount of FC houses you can purchase on a single server lasted two weeks.
