[New Player Feedback] There are way too many dungeons before Level 70

There are probably more than 20 dungeons i never touched at level 60 but my questlog is full with finish this and this and this and i have no idea what might be important for futured content and whatever. And since i'm playing a Damage Class it would take way too long to queue for all these dungeons and primals. I really hope Square will remove dungeons up to 60 at least that are not important for the Campaign with the next expansion, else it is simply too much for a new player.

Remove content? Take away some of our options for things to do? Throw away the work that went in to designing these places? Im gonna say no. No, that is absolutely not a good idea. As a new player, i can offer a tip for you. If a dungeon is going to be required for the Main Scenario Questline(MSQ for short) then it will be unlocked by the MSQ. If an optional dungeon were to somehow get bumped up to the MSQ(say, you had to run the 2nd version of something thus forcing you to run the first version ahead of time - theyve never done it before in the MSQ but theres no rule ive seen that says they couldnt), then there would be an MSQ quest telling you to go run that dungeon(and pointing you to the unlock/giving you the unlock itself). All those extra optional unlocks? Those are optional, and you dont have to do any of them if your only concern is the main story.

Side note: Clearing all those quests from your journal doesnt have to take an eternity. If you use the partyfinder tool to try putting together a group you can probly find a few bonus-fiends who would be happy to help with most of the backlog. And for that matter, most of the level 50 dungeons can be cleared solo by a good level 60 BLM going in unsync'd - and all of them can be duo'd. The same is true of the level 60 dungeons at level 70. But if nothing else you can save all these quests for once youve caught up on the MSQ and feel like theres "nothing to do" at the end-game. Having a list of new places to explore, new fights to experience, and the like might be a good boost later on.

But again, removing content is never the right answer.

After you finish the MSQ, the only dungeons that are required are the ones that unlock the roulette's. Those will, if you have the quests to unlock them, show up as a list of names when you click the roulette info screen. Do those and you're done.

If you see question marks, it means you don't yet have the unlock quest for those and you can easily Google those. But if you have all desired roulette's unlocked and MSQ done, you can ignore the rest of the dungeons. I would suggest doing them as you have time because not only are they fun, but it gives you more options for the roulette's you've already unlocked, making your queue potentially shorter.

Also I have to agree with the above poster, removing content is NEVER a good idea. Period.

A lot of these are optional.

I've been playing through with an alt recently and here's what I did. I picked up the quests, I unlocked the dungeons, and for those that still had an open quest, I suppressed the quest. I've been doing main story on RDM and roulettes on tank or healer (road to 60 bonus) so I do the 50/60 roulette. If a new dungeon comes up in roulette, I open that quest after I'm done with the dungeon and I complete it.

No rush, no fuss, additional content available as I play, and extra tomestones on demand when I choose to queue for something specifically.

The optional Level 50 dungeons are the best. At least one boss as a unique mechanic. And Tam Tara HM is one of the best things in the game.

you have like the rest of forever to play the game. you'll get them all unlocked and run eventually. just doooooooooo it

So you are basically saying you want less content in the game?
Removing all the optional dungeons pre-level 70 would be just plain stupid and wasteful.

Except for the dungeons required to continue with the MSQ, all dungeons are optional.
Some of them might be necessary to do in order to unluck some other dungeon later on, but in those cases you can wait and do the first dungeon later on when you actually need it.

From a story and lore point of view all dungeons matter to some extent.
If that does not concern you, then you can just skip all the optional low-level dungeons without any dire consequences. Yes, all of them.

The optional content in the game is some of the best there is in it to do. I don't want to be restricted to a smaller pool of stuff to do. Where's the fun in that?

It may appear to be a staggering amount but only because a lot of the l50 and l60 dungeons were added one or two at a time per patch update. The added lore and subplots of the dungeons adds a lot to the game.

Like, one of the favorite subplots of the playerbase is that one concerning Edda. (Tamtarra》Tamtarra Hard》PotD)

Some of the best music even comes from the dungeons imo.

I suppose the complaint you have can be rectified by not utilizing that content. However, your complaint about wait times can be resolved by having friends que with you or having FC members party up. Or, use the Party Finder.

Took me forever to bother doing it, thinking it would be yet another filler dungeon.

So you're new player, you don't know how the game works and why there are all this dungeons, and you want them to be removed.
