In memory of Curty Dirty

Hi Everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you news of one of our fellow FFXIV players, my good friend and FC member, Curty Dirty. Curty and his mother were murdered in his home in Michigan on Saturday evening. His brother was kind enough to reach out to us ingame yesterday and inform us of his passing.

Curty was by far one of the kindest and most positive people I have ever met on any game. Having recently gone through brain surgery, he used Final Fantasy XIV as a way to escape and as a way to enjoy his free time. He loved this game with a passion. He was always so excited about the little things, like improving his DPS on his bard, getting miner to 70 and working on gear, finishing his chocobo race farm to earn his Fenrir mount, and he was looking forward to doing his first treasure maps. He was just happy to help people.

For our FC this is a great loss. Curty was a very important part of our small family on Cactuar. We have no way of checking Curty's friend list so we are turning to any medium possible to reach people. If any of you were friends with Curty, please reach out to Lancer Highwind or myself (Purrsnikitty Hissingr) ingame. We plan on holding a memorial service for him on Saturday. We want everyone who was friends with Curty to have the opportunity to attend. It will be a streamed event so that we can share our words of condolences to his family and so they know that they are not alone in grieving the loss of him.

Rest in Paradise, my friend. You will never be forgotten.

I didn't know Curty but he sounds like he was a great friend and an ambitious Warrior of Light. My condolences to anyone suffering from his loss. I am sure he made a lot of lives more brilliant while he was around. Would love to have known him.
