[Inventory] Ideas/Suggestion

Hey folks,

Small scale ideas:
1. Automatically scan for items via the "search for item" while opening the crafting log. So the required materials are shown "white" within the recipes (including amount ofc).
2. Let us craft the items w/o transferring them from the retainer. If we have to sit besides a retainer bell, that would be fine.

New additions to the company house/own room:
There is already an armoire and the glamour dresser which theoretically "holds" the items. I would love to see a crafting item "bank" (similiar to GW2) where everything`s getting stored/can be stored which is a basic crafting material (1st and 2nd Tier would be cool too though). Directly crafting could be only avaible sitting in your room next to the crafting bank. Those items are usually not needed when you`re out in the field (questing, dungeoning, raiding, etc.)

More search/filter options within the inventory:
Sometimes it would`ve been great to actually sort/filter for items (similiar to the AH) within the inventory/armory chest. So if I only want to see my PLD stuff, I filter that and get a better overview. Some filters could be Stats, Melded yes/no, Desynth Level, only Set items. Catergorizing the items and display them within 1 Tab could be fine too (especially for the armory chest). For example reserve the first (10 slots) for set items only, then sorting order (1st Heal, 2nd Range DD, 3rd Tank) for equipment , the next XX Slots for equipment to desynth, the next XX Slots for trash/sell/trade in company seal. In order to achieve that the items need to be categorized beforehand of course.

Global inventory overview:
This function is expanding the "search of items". The search already lists the exisiting items within the different storage options, so it scans the different inventorys anyway.
Display ALL of the exisiting inventory tabs side-by-side or in a grid of some sort, with the option (checkbox) for each inventory to individually uncheck them, so we can choose which inventory tab/grid to look at.
So if we click(hotkey) that function every inventory grid is shown at once, the ones which aren`t accesible directly (retainer) could be greyed out. To reduce the shown tabs, the empty slots could be invisible/not shown. There will be a lot of tabs though if someone got all of the retainers :p I know these suggestions are more convienent stuff(not entirely neccesary) and are probably not doable due to limitations stuff (or SE just being SE), but some sort of improvement would be great in terms of inventory management.
For the record: the game is playable w/o this stuff and I'm not /ragequittung directly if SE ain`t implementing this stuff, my laziness would just benefit from this :cool:

for your suggestions:
1. too many calls to the server. too many people doing this at the same time will most likely crash it. crafting from retainers has been addressed before - can't be done because technically they are separate inventories and with the way this game handles inventories and the updates every few seconds this is not possible - would require a rework of the entire system.

2. your crafting bank idea - if i need/want to craft something out in the field and i can't i wouldn't like that.

3. more search options - would be nice but prob only saved for something like a far off update

Actually, the 'search for item' function does not access ALL the storage options available - it misses one... The Company Chest.

My addition to this thread is to allow the 'search for item' command to also search the contents in the Company Chest[CC] for said searched item. In my playtime in the FC, the CC is basically used for overflow of items being gathered/crafted - basically available to all who need them. I myself sometimes need some quick space in my bags for a specific raid or two to gather from. But in game time play I may forget the items I placed in the CC. The 'search for item' function can remind me what I placed in the CC. I, being a programming layman, don't see anything preventing this simple addition to work - but I will leave it to SE to make that decision if they may.
