This is not how housing should work...

I have a med. house- the timer will be up in 3 days (of the 30 given). At this point I am told I get 80% of my money back (really hoping this is correct, if anyone has the source please and ty).

I want a small - transferring to that small would have given me back so little money that I had to go out of pocket to complete the sale- so I am waiting - waiting while someone could already be in the med. :confused:

I like that you cant private sale anymore, but... If I choose to demo my own house I should get the cost of it back asap so someone else can have a turn without it sitting unused and myself unpaid. :eek:

Also due to changes in rules and updates there is a lot of misinformation on these forums and it might help to clean them up a bit- thats just a thought, ty!

There's nothing that has been posted since to say the amount paid after auto-demo has changed.

I suspect they don't refund more of the purchase price when relocating to deter people from relocating constantly (but that's still just a guess).

Misinformation is always going to exist on forums when players rely on each other instead of trying to look it up from official sources.

Housing demolition takes place after 45 days, not 30.

Yes, 80% of what you paid for the plot, but you need to go and pick it up from the resident caretaker and you only have 35 days to do so. It also doesn't include the cost of the permit for the estate hall (1 million for a medium if you bought it directly from the system) so you may wish to remove the estate hall first to get the permit back for possible future reuse. As long as you don't relinquish the plot itself it'll still demolish on time.

The 80% of the money is supposed to be compensation for having lost your plot and it wasn't intended for people to intentionally wait out the timer to get money back. Housing is still supposed to be a gil sink hence they only give us 35 days to collect money/items from the caretaker.

Although demolition has been turned on/off a few times, the rules behind it have actually stayed the same since it was introduced in October 2015:

They will never give people 100%, and never anything on personal-choice demo. That's just another tool for the house flippers, who will gladly drop 50 mil on a large, get paid 100 mil to vacate from someone desperate for that plot, then demo & receive their 50 mil back. Sure, they've still got house flippers but they can at least *try* to not make it so easy for them.
