Official Music Advertisements: completely pointless

Rant incoming:

You know, I love video game music. And I would love to have the official tracks from FFXIV.

But I can't. Because apparently Australia isn't allowed to have it in the official store.

... so why do I keep getting promotions for things they refuse to let me buy? Either pick the people you send advertisements more carefully, or don't discriminate in where you sell.

Get a friend who lives elsewhere to buy it for you, pay them for it.


Here in Hawaii, I see loads of TV advertisements for services that aren't actually available in Hawaii either. It happens. You either find a workaround, or move. Complaining to the TV stations about it will be pointless, and so will this.

You reminded me how often I come across the dreaded "We can't ship to Hawaii" messages like on amazon. I remember my last monitor I got from amazon they no longer ship that same monitor despite having done so months prior. You guys (amazon) clearly can ship here!

But yeah like Fyn mentioned just ignore them or have someone else buy them for you as a proxy. I ignore launcher advertisements all the time.

I don't know how it all works but I'm pretty sure amazon isn't the only intermediary involved with shipping a product. Some of them will do shipping to Hawaii and others won't. Depends what the seller has to work with.

In fairness to SE, it's probably not an issue of market discrimination so much as regulatory / legal barriers that are unique to Australia. Are there ways to get the OST from other vendors, perhaps?

So I used a mail forwarder service (Australia Post) to get my Encyclopaedia Eorzea just fine. I even bought from the NA store and redeemed the Namingway on my EU account (check the terms). Worked out the same as buying from eBay including freight. I checked and the service also charge the 10% GST you are now supposed to pay so it should work again.

Redirecting us to a "page not found" or the home page is a bit rude though. What? Can't I even gaze upon it?

CDJapan is where I get most of my FFXIV stuff (including an English lore book).

There are many ways that you can buy a CD or digital audio file. But I prefer these channel following;
1) Amazon Japan; Recently, Amazon Japan delivers some stuffs from Japan to some countries now. CDJapan is good choice too.
2) If you would like to buy digital version, itunes is good choice. If you want hi-resolution file or MP3, I recommend you, Mora. Anyways, you have some tricks to buy from that channel.
