Ninja Mudras: unresponsive and clunky?

I am new to the class and I actually enjoy the feeling of constantly having a plethora of buttons to push.

However, does anybody else have a problem with the small delay between every mudra gesture? I feel like it takes forever to cast three mudras. At times I also noticed that the commands can be a bit unresponsive which can cost you even more time. I thought at first that it was me pushing the buttons too fast, but after some testing I feel inclined to conclude that the mudras are far more susceptible to latency issues than most other skills.

Am I doing something wrong?

You're not alone in this complaint. It's been something that's been an issue basically ever since ninja was introduced into the game.

The problem only gets worse if you're suffering from even the slightest bit of lagging, you'll fire off ninjutsu you didn't intend, or get lots of bunnies.

Lag can be beneficial if you luck out and manage to fire off two abilities in a single cast like a proto-Ten Chi Jin.

Real talk though, the Mudra system is clunky af and can backfire horribly.

well since Bubbles like Salted earth and attacks like raiton now activate right away im sure there will be a "fix" for mudras or ten-chi-jin next expansion

As far as I'm aware this is just animations and not the actual attacks.

I can quite often see fuma shurikan being thrown and a bolt of ration coming down on the target simultaneously. But only one of them ever actually hits. The other is just the animation.

I had messed up so many mudras last tier of Savage because of these issues. Mudras i feel should be reworked and implemented differently

A fairly common suggestion I've made myself and seen others suggest is simply make them weavable. So players could basically go gust slash > ten >spinning heal or whatever it is > chi > aeloian edge > press ninjutsu for ration.

All it would require is separating the mudra recast from ninjutsu recast so players could pre enter there next mudra before ninjutsu came off cool down.

yeah understandable rabbits for messing up combos or pushing button too much
but getting the rabbits for using GCD bit much

To be honest, as it stands, you don't use one jutsu, you usually skip another, and one you press and never use again so long as you do your stuff right, while the two aoes you pick based on how much time you have (But it's usually doton)

So of the 7 mudra, you use 4-5, and they currently take 4 buttons. With the Ninki resource, I don't see much a point to the Mudra System other than flavor (And it's admittedly good flavor. That one part alone keeps Ninja fairly distinct.). I think Mudras being removed would be a mechanical gain.

From a mechanical standpoint: You can have Ninki progress your single target ability, expending more Ninki progressively upgrades the ability. Fuma -> Raiton -> Bhava, and the same with your AoE. Katon -> Doton -> Toad-kun. This also allows a bit of minor Ninki control for the Ninja when lining up bigger expenditures, if used with foresight.

Fold Trick attack and Suiton into the same button (As you only ever use it to use that).

Grant Huton upon entering Stealth (70s), using Armor Crush (30s) which also extends it by 30s on subsequent use.

This does put Ten-Chi-Jin in an odd spot, but it can effectively serve the same purpose, allowing you to utilize three subsequent 'jutsu' without a Ninki cost.

This consolidation also handles the 5.0 Pruning should it happen for Ninja.

But again: Mudras, while clunky, are a distinct gameplay decision that Ninjas deal with, and just on merit of flavor alone, it'd be hard to see them with it removed.

Mudras are fun in concept but the lag in this game makes it clunky and frustrating.
