That fight is cursed I was very lucky to find a clear party where majority of the people had cleared already Becuase after wiping 200 odd times in clear parties I was going to quit lol
I'm only progging 11s now but I'm calling 10s the 3s and 7s for this tier becuase I've never felt like more crap then doing that fight over and over lol
Hope you clear soon good luck!
Pugs are usually a lot harder to be honest, since the playerbase you get may not have a solid set of skills you're looking for to beat that enrage. Tanks could be with dps issues, or the healers not dpsing in the instance. What % are you getting to when you run into the problem before the wipe?
My o10s experience when helping my friend to get a clear have been, when PF for aim to clear we barely get to enrage, tank that are so paper I think they would die if Middy sneeze on them. DPS that are so bad, I wonder how they clear o9s. And when we did get to exaflare + ice, people randomly put ice on the tank, tank and dps not moving to first exaflare to stack for akh mon, I mean seriously they were in the middle still whacking on Middy when we all were stacking for akh mon. In the end manage to get her a clear with a high DPS group that got Middy to 53% before adds and beat it without even actually needing to LB3.
There is so many things that can go wrong in this fight making it not exactly pug friendly. Heard from my friends that o10s is the new static breaker. Fortunately in JP if you RF duty complete the fight goes pretty smooth, clear it in two pull last week.
If it's heals and tanks CD's not being applied, that's one thing.
But if it's dps, you may want to consider checking with FFLOGS for more (outside the parser that we cannot use) and see how DPS numbers stack up. That should give you more insight and information into the issue. Most times it's a DPS problem because tanks or healers aren't putting out numbers (because of their rotation) or your actual DPS don't know their own rotations.
Jeez I can't imagine how hard it can be since it seems to recycle quite a bit from nidhogg and bahamut but I haven't even gotten past O9S due to pug situations. I learn super fast so I was able to understand all four elements but I have yet to reach the orb phase. Very frustrating but it's pugs and there are even suzaku clear parties that can't even do simon says properly or meteors. It's an easy fight, very similar to ZurvEX in HW in difficulty for me though I can see how latency can mess with you in that fight. I really should find an LS or discord raid pug group so if anyone needs a pretty good WAR/SAM/MNK look me up on primal servers.
Party Finder is a mess on NA overall. I've cleared o9s, o10s, and o11s on PF, and I don't think I'll bother with o12s. I cleared o11s on week 2, o9s and o10s on week 1.
You need a lot of patience to get a clear. You have to put up with all sorts of people who join your Party Finder. A lot of people for instance will join a clear party with no enrage experience, and drag the other 6-7 players down. This happens with Duty Complete as well. Lots of people in the last 2 weeks where I wonder how they managed to clear, as they die +3 times per run. I've run into players who refuse to use food, or don't have vitality melds. I've been in parties where it's clear that some players don't understand how to play their role properly. Other parties people are very impatient and leave after 2 pulls.
I would say the best advice I can give is to join with no expectations. Problem is, the game is designed around the expectation that you need to clear once a week to get loot.
I've tried to help some parties clear in 0-1 chest parties. It's a very unfun experience. Players are very rude and ungrateful overall. They come in expecting to get carried and it turns into a disaster every time. For instance I joined a o10s party earlier today, and two specific players would die consistently during and after Hot Tail.
Did you write: "Kill, not practice, know strat 100%! 2 mistake = kick or disband" in your PF description?
Guaranteed road to success right there.
This just in: PUGs tend to be horrible at high-end fights that tend to require group solidarity and coordination.
In other news, water is wet, Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father, and people die if they are killed.
