New Sound Option

Would it be possible to get a sound option that disables my characters grunts when they do an ability without disabling the sound effects of the abilities themselves?

Maybe muting Voice would do that?

That already exists - you just mute the ‘voices’ volume slider.

It does turn off *all* voices though — emotes and voiced cutscenes as well.

Either that or letting us test the combat grunts in character creation.
Sucks picking a cute voice for /fume /laugh /yes /no but then getting in game and having the most use character vocalizations be ear shattering X_X

Yeah I wish you could just preview the battle grunts in the cc. That’s honestly pretty much the only sound I hear from my character as I don’t use emotes much. It’s weird how something everyone will hear frequently from their character isn’t previewable.

The voice option. It’ll stop your character from making any sounds at all.

The problem with just using the "Voice" option is that it mutes voices from cutscenes as well, and I don't want that.

Yes, I'd like this option. I got lucky with this character but my miqo'te bard makes me wince every time she does an action. A preview of the battle noises would work for me as well.

You can work around this with the /voice command. It toggles voice mute.
(All the sound categories have a slash command for quick toggle.)

Yeah, my Miqo'te bard is quite noisy firing off arrows and I thought perhaps that was only linked to some of the available voices, but perhaps it is race-related? I would like an option to mute bard instruments, though, lot of noise pollution at aetherites.
