What Sole survivor could have been.

7 second buff only to a select party member.
Keeps selected party members HP from dropping below 1. Still 180s cd.
Hints the name sole survivor.

Don't know if this would actually break drk or make it more viable than it is now.

So essentially it would be the DRK version of PLD's Cover in that you can potentially save someone that would otherwise die or take critical damage. It could be used to cheat quite a few tank busters (and other things) as aside being reduced to 1hp, there is no downside or negative side effect. At least when PLD uses Cover it either has to accept all the redirected damage or use other actions or live through it (i e. Hallowed Ground, Tempered Will etc).

That's a better ultimate cd than Living Dead.

Shorter cooldown, no drawback. Sure you have to be offtank to use it, but a tankswp isn't that difficult. Together with Holmagng and Living Dead you will maybe have a bit too many ultimate cds at hand ^^

Imagine casting it on a healer right before everyone is going to die, then they lb 3.

Sole Survivor might not be very impressive, but it's useful for regaining mana, and the hp can't be scoffed at.
I'd rather a rework to Living Dead than this.

You know what bugs me? The name itself! I don't have a single clue as to how its name relates to its function in any way, shape, or form. Originally, you would just use that ability on adds when you know they'll die in time, or in dungeon mobs on CD just before they die, but nothing about either situation says anything about a single living entity.

Perhaps a little play on words and calling it Soul Survivor, and it'd make more sense, you're surviving by harvesting their soul.

Somebody check the name in the other localizations. It might have a name that makes more sense in other languages and this is just the English localization team being weird again.

Edit: Just checked, in all other languages it's some variation of "Only Survivor"

Hallowed Ground doesn't work in tandem with Cover, but yes other than that.
