Eternal Bond Anniversary date?

The way the patch notes are worded make me wonder - if you choose to do the anniversary quest not on your actual anniversary, when you register, does it change the date to when you register? Or does it register the date you actually got married in game? My friend and I picked a meaningful date when our chars got married, and I'd like to take advantage of the anniversary stuff but not if it's going to change the date to whenever it is that we talk to the registrar.

It‘s the sane date you married at, so no worries there.

And you can also cancel the registration again
