Do I need to complete 100 lvl 50 quests before I can do coming to ishgard?

Hey guys,
So I completed ' the ultimate weapon' quest recently after which I've been bombarded with low-xp level 50 quests.

Looking at the eorza database: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...=2&category3=2

it seems that I'm on "Seventh Astral Era Main Scenario Quests" questline which contains ONE HUNDRED quests all of level 50.

Do I really need to complete all these quests before I can proceed to the heavensword?

Yes, you have to.
Or you go to the mogstore and buy a "story of..." item to escalate you past this or past the Heavensward expansion. (not recommanded)

The problem is, FFXIV has one long story, beginning at the character creation and is going on without end, and all content is locked behind the progress of this story.
