Add PvE stats to PvP gear again as a form of progression for outside of PvP
I've been thinking lately about how nice it was, in the past PvP gear had PvE stats on them, even if the item level of the gear was far above what could be used in PvP (150 for HW, so the increased item level of the 235 gear didn't make a difference inside PvP instances.)
In Stormblood, all the new PvP gear is purely cosmetic, and while I think that's fine enough incentive and reward for most players, I think it would attract many more players if they could acquire gear that they could use outside of PvP, maybe to gear alts or something. The gear doesn't have to be cutting edge, just something to acquire on the side.
In other MMOs, they allow you to gear up even if all you do is play PvP exclusively which I think is a great idea for players that prefer one style of play over the other, while still progressing in PvE on the side.
Of course we should still keep stats and item levels out of actual PvP itself, I think everyone agrees stats having no affect on PvP was the way to go, it keeps everyone on a level playing field with skill and experience being the only ways to actually "progress".
Maybe even make the top 100 feast rewards have a very high item level, but not higher than the current best PvE gear. Entice more people to play. The method of acquirement would be slower (in the time it takes for a season to resolve you could likely raid and get an entire set of gear) and it wouldn't even be a complete set, since you'd be missing belt + all of the right side gear. That's mostly just idle wishing, I'd be satisfied with getting any sort of gear that would be usable outside of PvP.
