Constant black screens that led to a big crash also huge fps drop after patch 4.4

After patch 4.4 i keep getting these black screens that just make my computer stop responding and i have to turn it off and turn it on again so i can recover my PC, this happen during certain mechanics in alphascape or in the cutscenes of the new dungeons.

This never happened before, also i had a huge fps drop in alphascape 1.0 that forced me to play in DX9 with everything turned off and i can still get a crash anyways.

My specs are
cpu: AMD FX 8150
ram: 16gb
gpu: radeon RX480 (8gb)
o.s: Windows 7 Professional 64bits

I have everything up to date except my o.s of course, but i had to rollback to Windows 7 because i had constant fps drop in windows 10 with directx 11, everything worked just fine till 4.4 patch.

You mentioned you went back to Windows 7 after you had performance issues. When was that? How significant was the difference after you switched?

As for the black screen, I'd suggest closing any unnecessary programs in the background and disable any overlays you might have (Geforce Experience, Discord Overlay, etc.).

I'd also suggest trying a clean boot. Click Start, type 'msconfig.exe' in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration utility. On the General tab, click the Selective startup option, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.

Hello and thanks for your response, i went back to Windows 7 five months ago, i had performance issues with every game in Windows 10, after switching to Windows 7 i was able to play FFXIV in Dx11 with the maximum settings at a stable 60fps.

As for the black screen after doing many many tests, even if i have everything closed and just FFXIV it still happens i get into a fight and then suddenly, the screen goes black, my pc stops responding and i have to turn it off and turn it on again to regain control.

It still happens if i play with Dx9, it may take a bit longer instead of crashing right when i get into a fight.

The only "solution" i found to at least play for a longer period was putting the game in full screen, all graphic settings OFF and Dx9 (this doesnt work with Dx11 it still crashes instantly).
Im going to test that "clean boot" you suggested later.

It sounds like your graphics drivers are crashing (but not necessarily your whole PC). You mentioned that you had everything up to date, I'm assuming you were referring to your graphics drivers as well? Have you tried doing a clean reinstall of them (it should give you this option when you reinstall)?

You also might want to double-check whether the game has the appropriate exception on your anti-virus.

I did a clean reinstall of the graphic card drivers and the result was the same, i did a rollback and it was the same, i repeat that this is something that started to happen with 4.4, it never happened with previous patches.

I ll continue testing things.

I replied in a different thread too, but I'm having this exact issue except it's not limited to cutscenes or fights. I have stress tested my GPU and am having no problems with any other games. Never had anything like this happen before until the 4.4 launch

I've tried most of the fixes listed like turning off overlays, switching to dx9, and running the game in win7 compatibility mode. Hasn't made any difference

At this point I don't even think the person in tech support that's answering have any ideas besides the standard please do this. I've replied to them way before some of the replies yesterday and did not get a response back. Especially trying all the things that were suggested. Feels like they're cherry picking thread/replies and now ignoring me because they have no more suggestions. x___x This is kind of frustrating. I've never had something like this happened ever since the launch of 2.0.

Same i never had this problem and im here since 2.0 as well, except by the time i had Windows 10, but even back then these black screen crashes never happened.

Even with Windows 10 and the creator update I didn't have problems. Tried to play again including crashing everywhere else. It's an instant crash exiting an instance. https://puu.sh/Bz9FR/dcd3741644.png

Now my game crashes with everything turned off, Dx9 and full screen, its the only game that does this.
