Mannequins were a great idea. Implementation is horrible.
Being able to dress up a mannequin in your house is a wonderful idea on SE's part.
However, as I'm experimenting with it, I'm becoming incredibly disappointed by the limitations in this new system.
An item displayed on the mannequin is, essentially, "consumed". Not forever lost, but as long as it's being displayed on the mannequin, you don't have access to it. Yes, you can put an item up for sale and it'll still appear when sold, but I have quite a few things I would want to display without wanting to sell, as well as things that are bound. This essentially means, for example, that I can't use the same event-exclusive item on more than one mannequin.
But, you know, I can work with that, I thought. Perhaps I'll collect a set of "emperor's new" clothing, glamour the desired appearance over the gear, and then put that on display.
... except you can't put an item that has any sort of glamour applied over it on display.
So not only do you HAVE to use the base item that you apparently like enough to put it on display, you can ONLY use it on that one mannequin if it's unique or exclusive, and you completely lose access to it while it's actually on display.
Why not treat equipment slots like kurenai or zhloe? Why treat it as inventory space when you're not using it to sell anything? Why no ability to use glamour plates, which should be such an obvious inclusion to this system?
I am just so incredibly disappointed in this. I think I won't be using it all in its current state.
