Crystals, clusters, lackluster support

I\\'ve been playing since version one, with version 2 all I get are auto responses and no help with a pay to play game. Can we break crystals to shards and clusters to crystals

I'm not sure what you mean by version 1 and 2.

No, you can't convert crystals (crafting) from larger to smaller.

As Zsolen said, you cant break clusters and crystals into lower tier catalysators.

But! they've added easy ways to get plenty shards, crystals and clusters by now:

- shards can be grown in flowerbeds and pots. They grow pretty fast, yield up to 100 shards per plant (when planted with Shroud-Soil) and the seeds are really low-level.

- crystals and clusters are given out quite generously when making use of the aetherial reduction of certain items - you'll learn about that once you reach HW

They also added that special buff/trait to botanist and miner that has a random chance of increasing the shard/crystal/cluster yield.

On a general note: The community of this game is actually rather helpful and friendly, so if you're looking for answers, I wouldnt bother customer support but rather make a nice thread here in the forums or, if you can, join your servers Novice Network. I dont know about the situation on Ridill and how helpful the mentors are on that server nor if you're eligble to join the NN (aka: still a sprout or returning player) but it might be worth a shot!

Yeah GM are for technical and account issues. I've never know GMs in any game to be there as walking wikipedia's for the game they GM for. Any gameplay questions you have are best asked here on the forums, your FC, or in game novice network. might be a Novice Network type discord someone created too, not that I know of one.

I presume he means FFXIV versions 1.0 and 2.0, the former was the original version of FFXIV that is now shut down, and 2.0 which became known as A Realm Reborn replaced it (which is the version we're all playing naturally). 1.0 player characters were all transferred into ARR when the game went live (like my character).

As far as crystals go, I agree it's an oversight that really needs to be looked at, as FFXI allowed crystal clusters to be split into a stack of 12 regular crystals, so it's odd FFXIV has never had this feature.

It might be intentional though, since it does keep you grinding for those crystals, thus subbed longer, even if you can easily farm them on HW ephemerals (and 4.0 ephemerals for water/ice).
