Chocobo leveling
So not so much a new player but not sure where else to put this. I've been playing off and on since the beginning before HW and on through SB doing almost everything possible content wise...except for my poor chocobo :(
I realize this system has been in the game for a while now but I still don't have a max level chocobo. I end up forgetting to pull him out a lot of times when questing which has tremendously hurt in the long run I know. What is the best way to level my choco buddy up? Would be nice to have him at max alongside myself for new content down the road. Any tips or guides anyone can point out would be very welcome right now.

Find a team to do treasure maps once a week (theres 2 challenge logs 2nd one required 100 kills) its fast to kill those mobs and you may get a few gil out of it.
With just doing that weekly you are moving towards caping.
That and feeding it in stable. Its a slow process but both of those ways scale with the required exp for next level.
You can use + exp food ... but lets be real its worthless unless you want to grind overworld mobs over and over.

Hey friend, I have been playing on and off since 2013 and my poor little chocobo literally just hit level 10 yesterday. (opps sorry buddy:()
Other than bringing him out with you (which I pretty much always forget little wicket hehe I'm such a bad choco mommy) I would stable him and keep up with leveling through the stable. Heck if you're in a FC and they train each others Chocobos I would stable that boy up in there and let him get the levels.

I've been steadily leveling mine just by leveling my side jobs. I do my leve/fate challenge logs on a non-70 and bring my chocobo with me. Gets the 100 kill done every single time.
Then off to the stables until the next week and I train it whenever I can (and hope my FC mates do too).
It reached 19 recently so I'm very excited. Probably in a month it'll be 20 \o/
I didn't start playing seriously (more than an hour a week) until 4.1 so that's about a year.
