Request - Make class specific 50 and 60 crafter/gatherer gear available to all jobs

Like the title says, would be great to see the class specific gather and crafter gear become available to all jobs. The sets themselves are pretty unique with nothing else coming remotely to looking like them. Right now, I don't know of any lore reason why they need to be locked only to their one class each.

Please SE, make it happen :)

Absolutely against this idea. Everything else I think should be available to glamour to all jobs, but AF is specifically designed for the job it goes with, which is the whole reason why they're so unique. It's the one case where gear designs should ALWAYS stay restricted to that one only.

Learn to read. I said CLASS specific GATHERER and CRAFTER gear. I did NOT say anything about artifact gear. The class specific gatherer and crafter gear is not artifact gear.

I read perfectly fine. I was also talking about GATHERER and CRAFTER ARTIFACT GEAR. I thought the fact that it's the topic of the thread made that pretty obvious. The class specific gear is ARTIFACT GEAR. It's designed specifically to represent that particular class, which is the whole reason it's so unique.

If you didn't actually mean class specific, and were just talking about gear that's limited to DoH or DoL as a whole, then yes, I'd agree that that should be opened up to glamouring to anything else, just as I think DoW and DoM gear should. But the title of the thread suggests that wasn't your topic.

Well it's not artifact gear. Nothing official refers to it as such from what I can find. There is also no lore reason to to keep the class specific gatherer/crafter gear. We don't do a quest or anything like it to obtained it, it's just crafted or bought with yellow scripts. The only reason I can see why they are class specific is because in the past, when they were BiS, and SE made seperate sets to keep geared up for gathering and crafted something you worked more for. Now that they are not BiS, I think SE should let any class wear them.

It never had anything to do with whether they're best in slot. It's that they were designed for one specific class and one only, just like with the combat AF that was purchased with tomestones or traded from dungeon drops. It's nice when AF has some lore to it, but it doesn't always get that.

So you'd rather see the gear sit unused? Sorry, I do not agree with you. Your justification to not let the gear usable by more classes is a really weak one and not a valid one. Your answer boils down to pretty much "Just because..." and nothing else. Your reasoning can be applied to any gear in this game that recolored and switch for other jobs to use. Example: Panegyrist's Chestwrap/Prophet's Chestwrap is now Ghost Barque Chestwrap of Maiming. By your reasoning, SE shouldn't do that cause it originally only or healers and casters. Now dragoons can use that set, even if recolored. You better go protest SE and tell them NO! Just like the crafter/gather sets, it was restricted to only certain jobs, but it is also not AF gear. People find uses for items they were not originally intended for all the time.

SE, requesting make the level 50 and 60 class gatherer and crafter gear usable by other classes. FF14 already has a lot of reskinned gear that went from 1 job set to be usable on another job set.

No, I use it a lot. And I'm glad that now that we have the glamour dresser, it's easier than ever to get more use out of them. Every time I switch to leatherworker, I look like a leatherworker. Every time I switch to blacksmith, I look like a blacksmith, and so on for all eight DoH. I wish there were enough glamour plates to do the same for DoL and combat jobs too, and hopefully there eventually will be, but we've already got the basis for the feature that ensures we don't have to look the same on different classes any more.

I never said anything even remotely like "just because". My reason is that they were designed to exemplify the look of a particular job. AF (regardless of whether we're talking combat AF or DoH/DoL AF) exemplifies the look that helps define a particular job. That's what it's for. That's what it was designed to do. And that's the entire reason we even get such gear in the game.

You're basically saying you don't want SE to make specialized gear any more, that everything should be blandly generic. I don't want everything to be generic. I want to be identifiably a goldsmith, or a weaver, or an alchemist, etc. by looking like each of those jobs whenever I'm on them. It's even more important for DoH than it is for combat jobs, since that appearance is the only distinction between them we have.

My reasoning doesn't fit that in the slightest. Those were never designed to exemplify the look of a specific job in the first place. They were always generic, so I think we should be able to use any of those (as glamour) for any job. The only reason for any split was stat related, not visual.

There shouldn't be a problem with stuff like the Kudzu robes, Onishi Dogi ,ala mhigan doublet becoming a glamor item
not say convert the DoH/L to all classes
but some the unique ones could be all class lvl 1 glamor

also if you didn't mean AF gear for DoH/L that leaves only iron works sets all none class specific crafting/gathering gear from lvl 50 - 60 are already all class
you just were not very specific
