Migration to PlayStationR4 Version Patch System (Aug. 22): Follow-up

Regarding the pre-migration update files made compatible for the PlayStation®4 (hereafter PS4®) patch system, distribution was temporarily halted due to technical difficulties. We are happy to announce that distribution has now recommenced as of Aug. 31, 2018 4:00 a.m. (PDT) / Aug. 31, 2018 11:00 (GMT) / Aug. 31, 2018 12:00 (BST).

We apologize, but even if you downloaded the files before the temporary suspension of distribution, it will be necessary for you to download the update files again once distribution has recommenced. Unfortunately, it has proven difficult to change the date of migration to the PS4® patch system. We realize that the pre-migration download period has become shorter than originally planned, but we ask that you perform your download of the update files before the migration date. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

*It is not necessary to manually delete any update files you downloaded before the temporary halt of distribution.

*If you do not download the update files prior to the migration, then the download of all update files will occur after the migration to the PS4® patch system has been implemented by the All Worlds maintenance on Sep. 4, 2018, when you start up your client application.

As for the issue we experienced in which certain FINAL FANTASY XIV PS4® client applications were not operating properly, an investigation conducted by Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that the cause was due to an issue with the PS4® system software related to the pre-migration download distribution. The issue has been resolved through a PS4® system software update.

If your PS4® system software is not up to date, initiation of a PS4® system software update will begin once the FINAL FANTASY XIV PS4® client is activated, so please conduct your update by following the instructions on the screen.
