We were supposed to be able to start pre-downloading the files ready to install on the 4th, but there’s some kind of issue that makes the download fail and vanish when you open the FFXIV launcher.
Someone on another forum posted a conversation they had with tech support - it’s a known issue and they’re trying to work out what’s causing it.

On the morning of the 28th my system started to download the files and took about 12 hours to do it. It successfully completed, and they say they are ready to install on the 4th. I was unaware there were any issues.
This worries me more than it should. I play every day for a few short hours and my PS4 has not picked up any type of download when I boot up or log in to the game.
Hope a fix comes out before the 4th as re-downloading the game is a 12+ hour thing for me.
Yeah, I've been waiting for the download too and I've not seen anything yet. I hope I don't just have to download it on the 4th all in one go :/
I thought they said they were putting the migration thing on hold because there was technical difficulties with the pre-download patch files or something.
Hopefully they let us know any updates concerning this issue. XD would appreciate it more.
Perhaps tonight they’ll say something about what they’re doing with it during the live letter
my background download started this morning.
My pre-download is working as I speak. :P
