Would this be a good change and help with movement and the rotation in anyway?
Personally i think its a really cool skill that literally has no use.

Upgrade Freeze to Contain (or some other ice-based name) and make it an aoe effect like Shadow Flare that does damage over time, but it also has a chance to process Hearts whilst active, meaning potentially more Fire IV's. Or the additional effect is there's a chance of being able to insta-cast the next Blizzard IV (or III if astral ice stack is more preferable)..
I'm not exactly sure what is best just pulling at ideas, but I would definitely like Freeze to get more use, like you say it's pretty cool.
Freeze Grants an Umbral Heart, removes all astral and puts one in Umbral (replacing blizzard IV in your aoe rotation with 3 or more targets.)

Freeze as an aoe bliz iv would be perfect
Bliz 3 would be ok too but since thats an opener unless you delay it until the mob is tight it wont be as effective until next rotation
freeze just needs to be changed for aoe only.
it needs to replace our current (bliz 3,) bliz 4 step in aoe and just gives full mp and 3 hearts and procs from flare use, or has to hit atleast 3+ targets to give full mp to make it useless in single target rotations.
freezes only saving grace is its bind and only in low level content. and even then mixing in a sleep and increasing healer dps is probs a better choice as both sleep and bind are instantly broken in aoe but atleast sleep stops mobs attacking for a moment.
Freeze is just a relic of the past with very, VERY, niche uses. A generation of UH would be nice for AoE rotation but it isn't really needed. The skill could either gain something or be deleted by next expansion.
Make it target normally, increase its potency, make it give Umbral Hearts, and you solved Freeze.
Now we just need to make Umbral Hearts better for single target, and BLM would be golden.
I think all DOM needs to be reworked in lore and application BLM is a glorified warlock from D & D we are not a learned spell caster. I feel more like a black mage with vermage
