It's sufficient for clearing stuff until you get higher item level, and in the case of tank accessories only the 350 pent meld beats out the 370 for maximum dpsing. We're only a few weeks away from a new tier of gear/tome/raid though so you can expect to see 380, 390, 400 gear very soon, with the 380 crafted pent meld stuff being great filler until you can get the 390 tome and 400 raid stuff.
i350 pentamelded is good for progression, and some pieces are pieces in the BiS of some of the jobs (e.g., BRD High Crit uses a pentamelded i350 bracelet; all the tanks use pentamelded i350 accessories; MNK uses an i350 pentamelded ring). But they are there purely as a stepping stone towards getting the better i360/i370 gear in the game if your goal is to become a raider. The majority of BiS (tanks excluded) are primarily i370 pieces, a mixture of Tomestone and Savage.
However, Patch 4.4 is going to bring out a new Savage tier, with new crafted gear, tomestone gear, and Savage gear. If you just want to get a clear for Savage, the i350 (or even Augmented i360) will help you along, and help you get a couple pieces of i370 Savage gear (or Tomestone gear), but once Patch 4.4 comes out, all that gear will be surpassed by i380 crafted gear. Which, as the i350 gear, will serve as stepping stones towards getting better i390/i400 gear.
