Hardest single hit action? (non-dot)

Hey there,

Just wondering which action in the game can reach the highest number when it direct crits, dots not included.

I'm guessing it would be Foul?

Well SAM's Hissatsu: Guren is pretty powerful, and pairing it with Kaiten is deadly.

I think Kaiten only works on weaponskills, but I'm not logged in so I can't check.

That said, you're not far off. Hissatsu: Guren is their strongest single attack at 800 potency, but paired with Kaiten, Midare Setsugekka comes out at ~1080 potency iirc.

Yah Kaiten only works on weaponskills that why strongest hitting action in this game is Midare Setsugekka.

Ah yes you are right, I suppose it would make sense otherwise if Guren was powered by Kaiten that's like 1200 potency isn't it, definitely not OP at all! If only BLM had something that could as powerful as boosted Setsugekka.

Is chain casting Fire 4s not enough? I'll take Fire 4s over wimpy combos any day.

If we look at it with the raw potency itself, it's Midare Setsugekka indeed (720 potency).
However, to calculate the strongest hit, we have to consider passive traits and self buff.

Samurai has a 10% self damage buff to setup on himself and another 10% damage debuff on the target.
Black Mage has a passive trait that increase every action's damage by 30% and Enochian which increase damage by 20%.

It's Kaiden Stesugekka. Foul is about 10% weaker, buuuuuuut it's also AOE, and that's where it will dumpster Setsugekka.

Pretty much this. I think the highest foul in a raid I've ever seen with TA, contagion, ballance, foe, and pot was 50k dh crit. I believe I've seen a 65k sam hit

Foul: 650 potency. Enochian multiplier 10%, Magick and Mend II 30% boost
650 * 1.1 * 1.3 = 929.5

Midare Setsugekka: 720 potency. Kaiten multiplier 50%, (I'm sure there's another multiplier, but I don't play sam and don't know it)
720 * 1.5 = 1080

Midare Setsugekka just wins that battle on single target.

Can Foul actually be in the running? I mean he said :Single Hit Action". I know he didn't say Single Target, but almost every move is single hit, even AoEs. I guess a better way to ask his question is what is the Highest Potency Action or Hardest Hitting Action.
