A big note

You can't actually chat with your FC or linkshells, you can start an in-app conversation with them if they also have the app, basically a shabby discord DM, it doesn't seem to have any actual connection to the game beyond syncing lists.

With the chat ending up in a bait and switch and market-related things being paywalled behind microtransactions the only use left for the free app is the event planner and being able to access your inventory (why would anyone want to do that while off the game though?).

Pretty useless without premium.

Which is what I've been saying since the start but ppl were too busy complaining about the P2W feature which was a bridge crossed years ago by FFXI

Basically, it's a $5 monthly charge to sort your retainers properly without having to put stuff in your inventory first. What a great use of resources...

Just within the app. It's what you use to take any action, be it adjusting prices or sending them on ventures. You receive one daily; two if you're premium. And I believe you can purchase extras?

TBF they confirm that you can hire a new retainer free of cost

Hire an extra retainer in-game for no additional cost. (directly from the guide)

(Now I'm not saying that it's a good proposal, it's still bleh, but I think there were ppl wondering in the past)

There is an additional currency in the app called Mog Coins that you purchase that work just like Kupo Nuts, for now at least. As stated during all of the Live Letters discussing the app they already have plans to expand the use of the Mog Coins.
