Looking for the right FC

Hi there. I am looking for a FC to join, but being relativity new MMOs and FF14 I have zero clues for what I should look for when joining. Other than the random invites and people messaging me out of the blue to join their FC, I wanted to know if there is anything I should be looking for. I have pretty good base knowledge to MMOs thanks to my many friends who play WoW (I tried it and it isn't fun for me) and I got my friend who knows MMOs to play the base game with me and teach me the basics. But sadly he is going back to WoW and I want to have a group of people to finish leveling and do raids and dungeons with for fun. Maybe even try rping as well.

It really depends on what you're looking for out of the game. If you just want to chill and make friends seek out an FC with that as a characteristic. Same if you want to hardcore raid. Or you could go whole hog and make your own FC and style it for your needs.

My suggestions to you would be to try out a few different things. You can always go to a populated area, like a city state, and use shout to see if any FCs are recruiting with a brief message about what you're looking for. Sometimes you'll see shouts from FC leaders and such advertising their FCs as well in these areas. Barring that, I could also suggest creating a thread in the Famfrit world page here on the forums. You could also try looking up Facebook groups for your server, or perhaps you can track down a Discord group for the server as well. Once you put yourself out there, it's just a matter of talking to those interested in recruiting you and working out what suits you best. Best of luck in your search!

I think he wants some of us who are recruiting, to give him a short liner of what we stand for, or just mention him the names of a few good FC's..

On that end, we are always recruiting. So if you are willing to join an FC on Cerberus that works through discord (our ranks are tied to our events) and join our events once in a while (social activity based FC) you might like us.
We have a mansion in shiro and recently got a second one to use for some events.

Find a FC that plays like you do. Do you want to become a master crafter? Then the raid heavy FC's that do "Heaven on High" in a foreign language is probably not for you. Are you old (like me) and really don't want to be surrounded by people who think Justin the Bieber is "neat"? FC's with a name like "420" have a specialized interest, as do "Rainbow Pride" (that one isn't for fans of unicorns). Does the FC stress socializing over game play? Are they established with a good gil base or will they expect you to donate "X" as soon as you join? Money isn't a reason to join or no to join, but it IS a factor. My son is in a heavy combat oriented FS on Brynhildr, but they didn't have a lot of crafters so they didn't have a lot of money. I gave them 100m gil so they could build the housing that reflected their status and recruit even more top notch players. Some times YOU will be expected to do the same. But like you, I got tired of being PM'd by people trying tor recruit me. After 4 years, I didn't feel the need to join one, but I felt kinda bad telling people "no" all the time... so I started my own. Members, one. :)
