I was thinking how the little things in a game are almost as important as the big things. FF14 has a lot of stuff that makes it a great game. Like the glowing ring around your characters feet at the character select screen, or that Limsa Lominsa has at least 6 ways to get from the lower decks to the upper decks. Are there any things that you find make it a great game?
I mostly like this game because of how much fun I have with my LS
Not sure if this really makes the game fun or great or anything but it's a little thing that I like - when you do the /doze emote your character's eyes shut.

I was on autorun from Bald Knoll not really watching my screen when I came up on this HUGE fking frog that killed me in one hit. As I threw my hands in the air saying AW WTF the frog kinda moved forward with its face taking up my entire screen and it blinked. That's when I knew I liked this game.
I'm kind of a virtual flower connoisseur. The flowers in western Thanalan are very well made, and the fungus (or whatever it is) in Cassiopeia Hollow is very nice too. Not to many game designers put a lot of work into the plants of their games.
Aaaww COOL, when your at the character select screen you can run around. The next time anyone is on they have to try it. Unless they already knew, witch means they're very smart or I'm very slow. :)
i love the whole character design, with the facial details and the fact that even rings are nicely detailed
There are lots of things to appreciate in the game...it's just a lot of people like to point out any flaws or minor annoyances instead of appreciating what is there that's actually good.
Even in the copy/paste portions of zones, there is still details to appreciate. I like the detail in mobs. I like environmental details like foliage, flowers, fungus, fantasy-esque appeal like glowing orbs, wildlife like frogs and fireflies, hard to reach areas that are well worth the struggle to get to, and the music (even if some are overplayed or not implemented.)
There is a surprising amount of freedom in the game; running wherever you want, changing classes on the fly, and some of the armoury system. I enjoy the customization too, and there is some more I'm looking forward to seeing in the future.
