Proper lvl 50 BLM Aoe rotation?

As the thread title says, what is the proper way to do my aoe rotation at lvl 50 for blm. I'm enjoying the job a lot, so I definitely want to stay with it. I just hit 50 a few hours ago, so haven't had a chance to look it up, so I'm hoping some of you could help me out.

This is typically what I end up doing. T2 F3 Flare Convert B3 Flare Convert T2 swiftcast F3 Flare

Probably not ideal, so what's the proper way? Tips for 60 and 70 would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

At level 50 it would probably be something like this for 4+ enemies: T2 -> F3 -> F2*3 -> (SwiftCast) Flare -> (Convert) Flare -> Transpose and repeat.

Don't ever use Flare after B3 or on Umbral Ice and save your Swiftcasts for Flare on AoE situations since it's your longest casted spell.

Alright. That's easy enough to remember - how much would the rotation change at 60?

I don’t remember that well, but you could do:

Blizzard 4 > enochian > thunder 4 > fire 3 > fire 2 * 3 > flare > transpose > thunder 4 > thunder 4 (until enochian runs out) and then start again.

When you get to 70 you can swap out a thunder 4 with foul. :)

This might be extremely outdated if it wasn't for Thunder IV being present in your post. O.o Frankly this is completely wrong. You never want to drop Enochian since it is tied to AF / UI timers now.

Lv50 / Lv60 without B4: Start: Blizzard III (+ Enochian); Rotation: Thunder II -> Fire III -> 2-3x Fire II -> Flare (-> Convert -> Flare) -> Transpose -> repeat
Lv60 with B4: Start: Blizzard III + Enochian; Rotation: Thunder II -> Blizzard IV -> Fire III -> 2-4x Fire II -> Flare (-> Convert -> Flare) -> Transpose -> repeat
Lv70 AOE: Start: Blizzard III + Enochian; Rotation: Thunder IV -> Blizzard IV -> Fire III -> 2x Flare (-> Convert -> Flare) -> Transpose (-> Foul) -> repeat

While Flare is only used as AF finishers for AOE in Lv50 and 60, Lv70 (or specifically Lv68+) with the enhanced Umbral Hearts trait makes 2x Flare stronger dps-wise than using Fire II at this point. While Fire II is absolutely mana efficient if you try to keep Astral Fire as long as possible, it is dps inefficient. Enochian is only applied once and ideally never lost by never dropping Astral Fire or Umbral Ice. Thunder II / Thunder IV procs can be used at will, but ideally before using stuff like swiftcast or transpose so you can weave easier.

Blizzard III is usually skipped at Lv70 unless you intend to do a half-ST-half-AOE rotation (fire IVs into Flare) and instead you hardcast Fire III to save cast times.

Triple cast for Flares is naturally a massive gain.

Also, grab a bunch of Max/Super Ethers and add ANOTHER Flare to your Triplecast burst of Flares. Basically: B3(Enochian)>T4>B4>F3(Triplecast)>Flare>Flare(Convert)>Flare(Ether>Swiftcast)>Flare>Transpose>Foul/B3 and on...

Reinhardt_Azureheim's post covers pretty much everything.

The only thing you could also do to slightly improve your AoE rotation even further is to start things off with Blizzard 1 instead of Blizzard 3. The rotation length will still the same regardless of how you do it, but starting with Blizzard 1 gets your Enochian up slightly faster (more Fouls) and it's ideal to use while the Tank is still in between pulling packs. I see a lot of BLMs swiftcasting B3 at the start when you could just as easily use a fast B1 for enochian and then swiftcast a Flare later on.

Also don't forget to use Lucid Dreaming / Diversion if you realize you're pulling too much aggro from the Tank. BLM AoE is strong and you'll most likely grab a lot of hate.

Why blizzard one ever. It's generally only low level filler for a slow mp tick.

Blizzard is a 2.5 cast. Blizzard 3 is a 3.5 cast. So yeah it's a second slower. But Umbria ice 3 slashes your fire 3 cast time in half. Umbral 1 doesn't.
So where you lose a second on blizzard 3 you gain 1.75 seconds on fire 3.

Casting blizzard 3 then is a gain of 0.75 seconds over blizzard 1

Nobody mentioned, but you can use sharpcast for thunder 4 procs. Thunder 4 is pretty strong because it not have any drop off between multiple targets.

Edit: Also I think it is not worth using fire 3 after second rotatio anymore because transpose is 8 sec cd. Just use blizzard 4/thunder4/foul then transpose and collect fire stacks by using 2x fire 2 then shoot flare again like before.
