PGL and Magic Potency.

Has anyone confirmed if magic potency or elemental potency boost PGL damage at all when using Earth/Fire fist? I feel like its suppose to since you can attach elemental potency to pgl weapon.

Can anyone confirm this? It is of interest to me as well. I plan to gear out my pugilist soon and would like to know.

Well I went out to test it.
At first I tested 24+ magic potency (as only change). No difference in damage.
Then I made a Circlet to test if elemental potency would have any benefit. 9+ Fire magic potency (as only change). No difference in damage.

Conclusion:
Magic potency and Elemental potency makes no difference as of right now. However, we can attach elemental potency materia to PGL weapons so this makes me think its suppose to still and needs to be fixed.

Side note:
I did not do an extremely long test on this. There may be an extremely low benefit but it is certainly low enough to not even consider gearing up for it.

You might have to stack more than single materia to see a difference.

It's like going from 260 str to ~279, not much difference, but when you get to ~280+ you see a bump.

So gather as much + magic pot. you can find for your PUG then attack naked, then attack fully equipped. Then start to remove small numbers if possible to see what the magic number is.

I get what you are saying but I do not have the kind of money to just test something I will most likely find no benefit in. I don't know how expensive elemental potency materia is on your server but on Fabul its outrageously expensive. Probably explains why it seems no one has an answer to this question.

If I had to guess, I say it acts the same way as magic potency with spells. That is, increases your damage cap. This means it does almost nothing on monsters around your level since you aren't hitting for your max damage to begin with. It would come into play most noticeably on lower monsters.

Again, just assumptions from how it works with spells.
