Patch 4.3-4.3X Game Play Feedback

Patches 4.3-4.3X have currently been extremely underwhelming. The lack of content, the reuse of older content on top of the lack of variety in the content is extremely depressing. I feel terrible whenever I log in. There is no excitement to do any content.

Eureka:
Is a boring Fate grind with no real mechanics involved in any combat situations. The combat is stale, and has no variance from the over world, or dungeons and 24 man raids.
Palace of the Dead, Heaven on High, Raids and Primal pieces of content at least have the Duty-specific actions/items that affect the game play.
Eureka lacks and significant battle alterations (lower global cool downs,unique mechanics, terrain advantages, terrain effects) There are tornados in Eureka that have no affect on the player character. The Limitless Blue and Neverreap have more memorable and interesting mechanics than the ENTIRETY of Eureka in its current form.

Heaven on High:
This was always apparently going to be a re-skinned Palace of the dead with new pomanders. The expectation was low and as a player that already has every class leveled to 70, the incentive and novelty or fun from this content is already gone. The challenge of going through floor 31+ was already experienced in palace of the dead.


Also these two pieces of content took far too long to be available. The INTENTIONAL delay of eureka and heaven on high was extreme disrespectful to me as a player and to my time. I should not have to wait for a three month period to experience content that is already prepared due to the developers choice. The players should have the choice of what content to do as it should all be released as quickly and consistently as possible.

Furthermore with Heaven on high now NOT being available due to a game bug, is extremely infuriating to me as a player because now the content I was hoping to play is UNAVAILABLE to me when it could have been tested and fixed while players experienced Eureka or other 4.3X content.

I am extremely disappointed in the content the FFXIV development team has worked on for the last few months, and am not looking forward to future patches.

It’s been pretty damn rough the last few months and I’ve been playing since beta, that says something, there have been serious luls before but it does feel exceptionally horrendous this time. You may be best to unsubscribe for awhile. My only real advice.

Sooo... which is it? Or am I understanding that you're extremely infuriated that you are currently unable to run content you deem has no incentive, novelty, fun, or challenge?

The game is made in a way people can take breaks from time to time. I came back on Saturday after 3 months, and I'm enjoying being back. HoH is kinda recycled but looks way more pretty than PotD... Also people get bored of things because they burn the content in the first day, like, right now with HoH again, I wouldn't be surprised if someone already hits 99/99. They wait 3+ months to eat the content in 1 day. Eureka could use a better formula but I also loved it, specially the place itself. What I do hope is that for next Eureka please no 144 players in the same instance...

Eureka has to be easy and boring or casual players will cry that they can't get the eventual best weapon in the game with 0 effort like they have done in the past. Pagos isn't going to drastically change up the Eureka formula either, it's going to be a copy and paste of Anemos but with snow instead of wind, and maybe a new system here and there to alleviate the week 1 zerg train thing.

Yes, Outside the original deep and the original diadem, everything else is copy/paste > reskinning content since late 2.xx. and I know few people who already unsubing for a week or two every month or so and might be even quitting the game altoghater

This is good and all but if that's the cast the auto demo shouldn't be 45 days now should it?

That's all fine and dandy and all and I actually appreciate it, but it's gotten to the point where it shifted from "you can take a break" to "you have to take a break because there's absolutely nothing else for you to do". Yes there's crafting yes there's hunts yes there's this and yes there's that. But it boils down to niche, non-combat content and that's not what most people are in here for. Also, as much as I do still hunt, it's effectively afking while watching something or playing something else, waiting for a relay. That's hardly engaging, well designed content.
And spreading the content over a longer period feels less like "we're helping you pace yourself" (which they have no place to decide), and more like "here's something to make you feel better when you resub again to save your house"

I thought eureka was 4.25 not 4.3

Honestly, if this game had yet even more content I wouldn't have a life. Pretty grateful for the breaks, and content for which there's no rush to do :-P
Odd numbered patches do tend to run out of steam quicker though.
