Hello! :)

Hi all!

Until about two weeks ago, I'd been only an observer of the FF series as a whole - really enjoyed watching the games being played - and had been hardcore enjoying watching my partner play FFXIV. Unfortunately my laptop is ridiculously rubbish, so I'd assumed that I wouldn't be able to join him in these wicked cool adventures he seemed to be having (and has been having for years), but I tried anyway. About five hours later, there I was, creating my first character. Huzzah!

I tried out a few roles first, was starting to get worried when none of them were what I was looking for, then decided to try out ARC - damn, it was like love at first arrow. Intuitive, fast-paced, can hit things whilst running around like a maniac... a definite winner. I've been playing often these past two weeks, and now I'm up to lvl 45 and still enjoying it. Planning to get to 50 by the end of the week!

I don't really have any questions, seeing as my partner (Grumpy Corsair) is a longtime player and absolute beast with this game, though we are passively looking for an FC on Omega (suggestions welcome, we're tentatively curious about RP) and any hints or tips are hugely welcomed. I'm the kind of gamer who, once she's waaaay into a game, does a ton of research and obsesses, so anywhere you'd like to direct me for a bit of reading and research is also very much welcome.

Just wanted to say hi, really, and introduce myself! I'm Lys, by the way, and my character is Lys Lunar (Hyur BRD). As I've stated my character is based in Omega, so if you see me round and about, please feel free to give me a shout! Would be awesome to make some friends, or just casual acquaintances to do dungeons with.

Great to be here, and so glad I decided to give this game a go. Haven't fallen in love with a game like this for years! :)

Very nice little story and welcome to the game :)
Glad you are enjoying yourself and many jobs only get more interesting at level 50+
A good place to get somewhat of a feel for jobs is Palace of the Dead, you gain all your levels+ abilities while in there so you can have a feel for things. (It is levelled inside only meaning that if you are level 50 in Palace you will not gain those levels outside of it)

Since you are new you cannot yet post in the server specific section but you could always ask your partner to make a party finder and search for Free Companies that way

Hi Lys! Welcome to FF and welcome to Omega! I'm still new myself and have limited play time, never regular either, but that's life; I would play all day if I could! :p

The last month or so I have been in FC Crystal Crusaders of Omega. They have been a great bunch to get to know and have helped me through MSQ dungeons at the drop of a hat. They've also helped me improve as a tank and are always constructive, so no problems asking Qs when Grumpys not about! We have a great house and even hold parties! What more could you ask for ;)

Check out our FC in the World sections of the forum. Scott Pilgrim, our illustrious leader, checks the forums regularly to reply OR give him (or myself) a /tell in game when you're on.
