They were probably going to a stronghold. If you're less than 45 and they go for the big mobs (say, wolves in Natalan) you'll hardly pull your weight. You need 2 things in a party: healer(s) and tank. The rest, the DDs, are fillers and are generally any other class.

You should know what classes you have in terms of level ranges. If you want a quick reference, go to your Attributes page and under the Skills tab look at your levels.

If that was literally the shout, 45-50 DoW/DoM, it's on you for missing out. I hope you know what DoW and DoM stand for.

Edit: Waitwaitwait. Are you using the old party search system or are you talking about the new one? Or are you just talking about searching for parties in general.

Because they don't want a lv45 DoH/DoL joining the party so they can throw rocks

Switch to the class you intend to use before joining

They should remove the old one from the game completely. It's just confusing new players.

No, they need to keep it as it is usefull for changing leader, and other party control functions.

the PARTY search feature (if people use it) works.

When you go menu > party search > search: you can change your available classes in the menu and press search again.

Using the PLAYER search menu, you can set yourself to seeking PT so the people who are forming PTs can invite you from that list.

Using both in unison works well, but players have to actually use both.

Maybe SE can fuse the two together to make a super search feature ^^.

I'm not saying they should remove the "Party" menu, I'm talking about the old search functions only some JP players use, in some rare cases, if at all. There is a reason I quoted Felis, don't you think?
