Unresponsive controls
Hey all
The past say or two I've been having some issues with my controller. I'm on PS4 and in dungeons, occasionally outside, my controls seem to stick or are unresponsive. I find this happens more in Sigmascape V4 but I've no idea if that is coincidence.
I'm fairly certain its not a problem with my controller, I've tried a second one and find this problem doesn't happen in other games

I had a similar issue. I play on controller on PS4 as well. Can you give me some more information? In my experience, my avi would have a delayed reaction to some of my commands and would sometimes just start walking in a different direction at random (made playing a caster a real b*tch). What specifically is your avi doing? is it action based (your weapon skills not activating) or is it movement based (like my example)?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
When did this start happening? How frequent does the issue arise?
The controller becomes completely non-responsive, correct? How long does it take to respond again? Is this accompanied by any other issues, like input latency?
Is your controller connected wirelessly, or do you use a USB to connect it? Does this occur using both?
Do you notice any pattern to the issue? Does it only happen at specific times or places?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Not entirely unresponsive, for example, holding downs r2 and then pressing X , the X takes a while to respond. If I move the camera angle it gets stuck and spins around, and when moving my character it sometimes gets stuck so she runs in random directions.
I mainly use the controller wirelessly but it does happen when connected via USB too.
I find it happens more in dungeons and raids, and it happens the most in Sigmascape V4. Sometimes it happens outside but not often .
Ive tried resetting the controllers and re connecting them etc. But it hasn't helped. And i don't find it happen in other games, although the other things I'm playing are nowhere near as complex as ffxiv control wise

Thank you for the reply GamerMama.
My first thought is that you may be hitting some sort of slowdown, causing your inputs to not be read correctly. The next time you do a dungeon try lowering or disabling battle effects (Character Configuration > Control Settings > Character > Battle Effects) as well as lowering Draw Quality and Water refraction in the Display Settings (System Configuration > Display Settings). Lowering these may be less taxing on the PS4 (unfortunately, there isn't much you can lower on the PS4 besides these to reduce slowdown).
See if this affects the input lag you are experiencing.
