Name changes at 2.0?

Was looking back and couldn't find an answer. Was wondering if we might have the opp. to change our char names come 2.0.

Anyone know?

Last I heard, they were still deciding on whether or not to allow it. The main issue with allow it is it makes a sort of first-come-first-serve to names if two people want to change to the same name. The general consensus from players, myself included, seems to be that they will allow name changes, but no official word other than "We'll look into it".

I know the pdf file includes "gender" in the changes you will be allowed to make to your character when 2.0 hits, but then recently it sounds like they were sorta like "Really? Not sure why, but if you really wanna change gender, suppose we could do that". All I know is if they allow for gender change, it's gonna be really weird if they don't allow for at least a first name change.

With first and last names, however, I don't see how you'd hit the 2 people 1 name problem, except with unoriginal names. I guess that's valid, but personally, I weep not for those scrabbling for Cloud Strife, Rinoa Heartilly, or whatever else have you. ;p
