Please make the cut scenes in Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium skippable again

Firstly, I understand and appreciate the desire to allow new players to experience the game and it's story as intended. The intent here is good. I think there is just a better way of implementing this same feature without the massive draw backs for returning players, or new players who don't wish to see the videos. More on that later...

I just got out of The Praetorium with a friend of mine and have a few observations about the way cut scenes work now. The draw backs were pretty clear... An instance that used to take 10 minutes to complete now takes an hour of sitting on my hands and watching something else that isn't the game, since I'm a seasoned player who's been doing this instance from the start. This is troubling... Since I'd like to be be engaged in FFXIV while I'm logged in as much as possible.

Secondly, a lot of the text was quite wordy and I wasn't able to read a lot of it fast enough in the allotted time. I'm at an average reading level and I can't be alone here. People who want to be invested in the story will want to take their time and go over each word carefully. That currently isn't possible with some of the time limits on the longer text boxes.

My friend who's got lots of lag would not load in to cut scenes as fast as other players and by the time his finished, bosses would already be dead. It's safe to say new players with connection issues similar to his will not get a chance to see the bosses that are being built up since they do not have much health and most people who repeat the instance are there for the 50+ tombstones of Mendacity and likely are well geared or 70.
Possible solutions to this problem while still addressing the original concern might be...

1. Implement a vote to skip function (similar to Monster Hunter titles). Vote to skip by pressing escape and if not all comply, the scene plays.
Concern: A possible concern to me brought up by a friend with this method was the idea that old players might be rude and kick someone who didn't want to skip. I'm not sure how to work around this.
2. Alter the raid so that cut scenes play out in the arena (similar to Stormblood dungeons) with NPC's running about and performing the same exposition. To be honest though, I think this method is the best option. Give the bosses a bit more health so the dialog has time to play out. A lot of old voice acting could be reused.
Concern: This might squander the effort that was put in to making the movies in the first place and would also divert resources to older content rather than new features. However, I think the ending redesign would help strengthen the game as a whole and make it more accessible for all types of players.

3. Remove the scenes all together and clump them at the end.
Concern: While this would re-solidify the pacing of the instance, the pacing of the scenes would be totally ruined. I feel this is not a very strong recommendation, but it was a thought maybe other's could build on.

Like I said in other posts: new people have their rights in read the cutscenes in the instance and not in a INN. It's annoying watching something out of context, the story is not the same.
What could happen is when all people cleared make the cutscenes skippable, however, some people who already cleared like watch cs too.

I could see WHY they made the cutscenes unskippable, so that new players who are going through it can enjoy the cutscenes. However, for someone who has been through that content, have taken in the cutscenes and moved past it, I feel as if it may be a bit unfair for people who do that roulette on a daily basis for EXP/Tomes/Etc. The way I could see it working is that if there is a new player in party, then I could potentially justify being forced to watch these cutscenes. However, if there isn't a new person in party and we all have already LONG since done the content, then there shouldn't be any reason why we should be forced to watch them. I'm not sure what it would take for them to code such a change into the game, so there's that, however, I would at least like for them to consider it.

I agree with the skip because this update came too late anyway. In the beginning it was annoying that people just ran ahead killing everything in advance so missed party the cutscenes.. but lets face it... 85% of gamers allready did it so there's no point to what was done.

They added unskipable cutscenes and slightly increased the reward for the roulette, then they increased the reward again and also added tomes for running it as a level 70 class. Why increase the rewards again if they weren’t seeing a drop in the number of people queueing for this content? It’s possible they will continue trying to make changes and eventually have to revert this decision. Only time will tell, but surely 50 mendacity is not enough to spend a half hour+ in line amd then potentially close to an hour in the dungeon doing nothing for 95% of it. Not sure why they even bothered adding that since that’s no more than you get for running a regular dungeon that takes a fraction of the time.
