Another income stream idea for Square Enix: Crowdfunding for content

In addition to the premium app which will be released soon and the favorable mog station with plenty of high quality premium offers like emotes, I suggest that SE offers me another possibility to spend more money on the game besides my monthly sub.
SE should offer crowdfunding for implementing content, bosses and features. This way SE sees directly what is demanded by the playerbase by offering multiple options what they could implement for a patch. Premium backers can then be rewarded with additional pets, mounts and other high-value stuff, which can be shown-off ingame to poorer players.
Another advantage for SE is that they don't spend money on unpopular content anymore, which will then be also advantageous for me as a shareholder.

I'd crowdfund blitz ball.

Or maybe instead of taking our sub money and injecting into their other projects like they have done thus far they could use more of our money to re-inject into FFXIV?
You have good intentions OP but i can not get behind this idea at all, sorry

The first crowdfunding campaign should be to fund the butt slider.

What a staggeringly dangerous precedent to set... As they say, a fool is soon parted with his money.

This. I get why SE uses FF14 as a revenue source for outside projects and can respect it to some degree as well. However if we're getting to the point where we need to suggest crowdfunding for new features, I'd much rather they actually turn a larger amount of the profit back into the game first. Likewise if SE is still so inept with project bloat that crowd funding is essential then it puts into doubt that my sub is even being well spent at all.

If you just wanted an excuse to give SE money you could've just bought more mog station items.

Small indie developer Square Enix can barely pay the bills as is. Please people, donate to this hard-working yet underfunded 5 person studio.

Most of these crowdfunded games don't even get released. The most successful one is still selling virtual ships for $27,000 with barely any game to show for it. Seems like a scam to me. You might as well flush your money down the toilet.
