[Lighthouse Spoilers] Can we please stop with the stupid fetch quests?

Unlocking the lighthouse sends you on this really dumb quest to get a bottle of wine for no reason, which leads to a guy, and another guy, and another bottle of wine, and then Hancock shows up for no reason...

I mean, seriously? I'm the all conquering god slaying savior of Eorzea. I even own a house now. I've liberated multiple countries. And I'm being sent on an errand to be talked down to by some clown in the ass end of nowhere about wine?

This stuff was one thing when canonically we're playing a nobody (although that cheese fetch quest before Titan was also dumb), but at this point we're globally known. Frankly, it's immersion breaking to think that we really have nothing better to do (as an NPC in the RDM quests even points out!) than play errand girl. I have retainers I could send to do this stuff.

This whole thing felt like a throwback filler quest and it really doesn't fit very well.

I think they've been trying to better connect the 24 man raid to the world since the other 2 alliance raid (especially the void ark one) was not that connected to the larger world, that said I had that unpleasent feeling of filler too, considering that once you finish you have a bonus quest too, they should've just added the fecth quest to that other one and call it a day, I guess they alspo wanted to add a "reality" thing to give meaning on ramza and the others reading the book to find the place, but ye it didn't work

I agree with this. It seemed like they were really trying to connect the Ivalice raid to Eorzea in general instead of having it just a stand off side quest on its own. But with the viera name drop....I wasn't too mad at it..but thats just me...

But they couldn't do that without a throwback to the low point of the ARR MSQ (the infamous "sure Titan's a threat, but first I want you to bring me some cheese..." quest)?

I don't know if they were trying to be cheeky or what, but this whole thing just doesn't work. It's less connected and more "why do I keep saving these people if they're going to all behave like this?"

I mean, didn't they even say they added more story to Ridorana because people felt there wasn't enough for Rabanastre?

I personally didn't mind it, but I also don't mind getting more story to things instead of less.

The only ridiculous part was the chocobo thing with Montblanc. Like 50 people were trying to spawn them and it turned into a giant mess of feathers and meteors for most of the morning. @.@

You guys do realize it's probably a developers way of saying "Complaining it's too easy, complaining it's too hard, not enough side quest,.ect..Well here is one for you, don't like it don't play it". kind of make sense besides the running around was not that. It's just people being over sensitive. Next thing you know people will complain lighthouse being too hard.

...I actually enjoyed that fetching mini questline...

But that quest is in no way related to Ridorana. It's not related to anything. It's literally "you're waiting for the other NPC to learn something relevant, so kindly go waste time getting wine for me for no apparent reason."

Yeah that was an absolute mess, it was a chore to figure out what to even do with so many people there, then find the right mobs in the pile.

What you don't realize is that mini side quest will eventually lead to a super important task in later patch. They are just building the ground work now. The person who wants the wine will be reveal later on that they are a very special person. It's foreshadowing what's to come later.

Gonna have to disagree.

I thought it was a nice change.

Course the number of total idiots running the raid now....ugh.
