It feels as though more and more gear, particularly weapons, head gear, and body gear, are made and sized strictly with Hyur in mind, then generically resized to fit everyone else. For example, on Miqo'te and Au Ra females at least (according to my own experience and a post I found here), certain glasses and other headgear look fine, while others float unnaturally far off the face (example comparison here). On older body gear, there were cutouts or other accomodations for tailed races, but most gear nowadays just has the tail clip through. Specifically for Lalafells, a friend of mine has pointed out how many weapons since 3.0 are resized far too drastically, to the point where they look like toys. This combined with the upsurge in recolored and recycled gear models, historically disappointing dye zones on most gear, and other signs of declining attention to detail makes it hard to look forward to most gear.

I still remember the special tails the Female Miqote ended up with in certain dress-like leg gear.

Short characters are an issue as well. My char is close to the minimum height and theres a lot of clipping around the hips.
And skirts in general look ridiculous, the way they jet out all rigid at a set angle. (skirts as in like, the eastern lady's dress)
I really hope at some point the character models get an update to their skeletons or whatever to better support the various styles of gear available
Sidenote: as much complaining as people do, myself included, the aesthetics in this game are beautiful and the design team should be proud of the work they do. I dont doubt for a second that the people designing the gear hate the compromises they have to make even more than we do. -
