Eureka part 2 and crafted gear

So a simple question, does anybody know what patch cycle (if there is one) for when crafted gear comes out? Was there any mention of it in the live letter? Or any information if armour will be increased in ilvl for Eureka part 2.

I can easily afford it but I'm reluctant to spend a few million on gear that will be only worth it for a few weeks. Advice is welcome.

Are you talking about DoW/M or DoH/L crafted gear? Generally, SE adds a new set of DoW/M in patches with an iLvl increase (new part of the 8-man raid, new tomestone gear), while new DoH/L gear is usually added in the catch-up patches (the ones that add the next part of the Alliance raid). If you're talking about DoW/M, the new set likely won't be coming until 4.4.

Nothing is known about the iLvl of the new Eureka gear, but I imagine it'd be a 10 ilvl jump (i360 gear, i365 weapons).

The way it usually goes is that every even numbered patch we're getting new crafted gear for DoW/DoM (and every odd number patch we're getting some new crafted gear for crafters/gathers - that gives them one patchcycle to prepare themself for the next patch-cycle when they'll be able to make money out of their investment again by selling the DoW/DoM-stuff).
So I'd expect new crafted gear with 4.4, along with the new raid(gear).

Since I care little about Eureka - and with it being new content we dont really have previous data to go from - I dont feel comfortable making any real assumptions here. I'd only hope that, in order to "protect" the crafted gear, they'll delay Eureka-releases by a few weeks. Looking at the current, fully upgraded Eureka-gear its 5 ilvls above the crafted stuff.
Eureka 2 is coming out with the next patch, so maybe the gear will finally catch up to Savage-stuff within it? Aka 370? ...should remind myself that I didnt want to assume stuff there...

As for advice:
That really depends on what you wanna do with the job you're gearing up. And wether or not you like Eureka at all - or care for the looks of the AF3 of the job in question.
I'll assume that you're not into Savage-raids - you'd be a bit little for that, honestly - which in turn means that your gear doesnt matter that much.
340 gear from uncapped tomes, some 360 gear from the capped ones, the 350 stuff you can grab from Omega-NM should all work well enough for you. Throw in some Byakko-weapons to get decent ones there and you're good. With 4.3 we'll also see the next Ivalice-raid, which means: one piece of 360 gear per week (if they follow established patterns).

If you like Eureka, it might be a good idea to stick to that gear though - one assumption thats probably a safe bet is that the next upgrade-steps will require you to have completed the ones before, aka owning the Anemos-gear.
So... if you can stand that content, I'd go for that instead of crafted gear - and if you dont, I'd stick to the non-crafted options the game is offering.
(...and I'm even saying that as someone whos making money from selling the crafted gear...)
I dont know what content you're intrested in, but you dont strike me as a person who would have much use for crafted gear at this point in the cycle.
