I'm not sure if this is someone relocating their house to game the system as I've seen demonstrated before or not. But if it is, this is truly infuriating to experience and is likely the last time I bother trying to get a house until this system changes.
Are there any non-freshly auto demolished smalls to buy? I'd try to snag a gob small for 1.5-2m. then that way you are ready to snag and relocate to a Shirogane small when it pops.
I saw a medium lav beds auto demo, ran up to it for fun (I didn't need it) and saw a frustrated player trying to click on placard and buy it, but couldn't. I recommended that they run down 30ft to the small lav beds that was sitting at 1.8m and buy that plot, then run back 30ft to tell medium. She did that and 2min later was the proud owner of a lav beds med.

Insanely frustrating to have wasted 8 hours over nothing, but at least now I know, I guess.
As Kittypryde says it is easier to relocate than buy directly as relocates aren't under the control of the timer.
