Notorious Gathering!
Idea 1. Gathering NMs!
Mining: Coblyn.
Botany: Malboro.
Fishing: Flan.
Location: Free roaming or instanced
Recommended party: 5 or more DoM or DoW. 1 or more DoL.
Description: Three legendary beasts have been recently spotted throughout Eorzea and all attempts by Disciples of War and Magic to fell them have met with the beasts' remarkable escape. Interestingly, Disciples of Land have noticed...peculiarly tantalizing...reasons to continue to seek out these rare species for never-before-seen gathering resources found on (and in the case of Flan, IN) their gigantic bodies.
Goal: Disciples of War and Magic, distract these notorious monsters and protect your gatherers from certain death as they seek these resources.
Duration: 30 minutes. Rage event occurs: mob escaping.
Rewards: Notorious metals, wood, epic tool parts, and gear.

Also a more generic idea, notorious nodes that gatherers could never solo but that a group of them could. This would take new features that aren't in the game right now, like the combining of a party's output, perception, and gathering skills. The first idea should require no new game features at all.

I am in full support of this idea.
It represents one of many possibilities where gathers could be integrated into party-play.

Only problem is you wouldnt need DD with this idea you would just need tanks and healers if DoW/M cant actually fell it. I think it might be better if the item doesn't drop until you have harvested the correct part

Ohh good. but I prefer free roaming.
