A lot of people have differing opinions on the cash shop and prices and the items available.
One thing we likely all have in common is we want this game to do well. We are the FFXIV community together despite how different we all. What we have in common is playing this game.
I know a lot of people at least think it would be a step in the right direction for SE to make all Outfit/Mount Cash Shop purchases account wide.
I have been playing since 1.0 and I really like this game. Therefore I don't mind supporting it. I do buy a few of the outfits, but in general I don't spend much on the cash shop. Things being account wide would be way more beneficial imo to the game and also to the players.
Items that should be account wide (delivered to all characters on the purchasing account at time of purchase and also retroactively for characters who did not receive it or new characters being made:
All Outfits (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal)
All Clothing Items (Single Items from Seasonal events, Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, etc)
All Accessories (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal, 1.0)
All Mounts (I think most of them are, but putting here in case there are any that are not)
All Minions (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal)
All Bardings (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal)
All Emotes (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal)
All Weapons (Exclusives, Regional Exclusives, Seasonal)

Reasons why these items should be account wide:
We all pay subscription for our accounts.
Each account belongs to one player.
If that one player purchases extra optional items from the MogStation then it should be attached to their account and any and all characters should receive it since they are all on that one player's account.
One Account = One Player
No matter which character they might be playing only one character can be logged in at any given time and the account belongs to a singular player since it can only be logged in by one person at a time.
This means that giving all characters on the account the purchase from the MogStation doesn't give anyone those items for free since the account owner had to purchase it at least once to give it to their account.

The current subscription model allows for 2 options which both include more than one character per account, but for Cash Shop purchases the service account as a whole should be taken into consideration.
Some players are even choosing to pay the $14.99 to have more characters so they are paying SE for more characters.
Since players are paying extra for more characters they really should be considered a single account as a whole and obtain all of the above listed cash shop purchases.
It seems to me people are already paying for these extra characters so making items account wide will possibly increase sales on some items since there may be quite a lot of players who like having alts.
The prices for these items are considered high by many, making it account wide will at least make the price seem more acceptable especially for players with alts.
Items that can be exempted for obvious reasons (these will not be account wide):
Dyes
Eternal Bond packages
*Housing Items
Jump potions
Story skip potions
Retainer jump potions
Fantasias
*I know it would be nice, but these are too easily swapped between players using housing permissions so it could be abused to obtain a large amount of housing stuff and give to others or other characters
Rest of the items pretty obvious why as well.
Let's get SE's attention!
The more likes the more likely they may consider this.
Click a Like on this post if you agree that more items from the cash shop should be account wide especially since some players pay more sub fee in order to have more characters to use (alts) and also due to the current prices of the cash shop items.

This thread is not to debate the existence of the cash shop, the prices being too high, or what items are in it. It is only for a petition to make certain items account wide when purchased and for all subsequent characters and also retroactively for previously purchased items in the past if the change is made.

I agree with this notion. If they can make Fanfest items account wide that included a special costume AND a minion for $30, they can make other items the same.

+10 if I could. One of the reasons why I let myself buy mounts often is the account wide-aspect of them. Similarly, why I shy away from buying bardings. I barely spend time customizing my bird, so if I were to already buy it, might as well have it so all my charas could benefit and it would see more use.
And lord knows I'd be a lot more in favor of buying outfits I'm on the fence about if all my charas could benefit from them as I do have several charas per gender. The biggest drawback I can think of is inventory space but meh, that's a concern for another day.
Ultimately they can say they're moving away from account-wide items because of technical difficulties all they want, it rings so hollow when they keep releasing account-wide mounts. -

Yet it, and games like it are riddled with P2W junk, however take a careful look at the "Season Pass", that is the game's "subscription" equivalent, and what do you get with that? Everything that was previously released. Also the PvE part of the game is a one-time purchase. But the point I'm making here is that we're seeing F2P nonsense creep into what is a subscription game. A F2P PvP shooty game should not be the game revenue model MMORPG's use.
MMORPG's should be subscription, and everything must be obtainable within the game, without the cash shop. The cash shop should only be used as a way to offer items that players missed out on where the content isn't available to do again. Every time we have a seasonal event, we should have the opportunity to try and get those items again. For example, I missed "Cheap Dungeon" because I was out dealing with family medical issues, but apparently it just rewards a toy for the toybox. Where do I unlock that now?
Because new players, and starting new characters do not get the opportunity to unlock these things, they should be given a chance to do so in the game, or if they simply "want the reward of an event past now", the game should recognize that the player has already passed it before and give it to them, OR if they never did the event, offer to replay the event. If they simply want the reward without doing the content, then buy it from the shop, but unlock it on all chararacters past, present and future.
But it is a slippery slope with "skip content" type of cash shop items. At some point the developers will just stop producing content if players just skip it all the time, and then we end up with a game devoid of story, but endless "look new hat" cash shop items as consumables. -

+1. Making all or most of the cash shop items account-wide solve most of my problem with the cash shop. The items would still be a bit expensive at the current prices, but it would feel less like being gouged if I could also have those items on my alts.
Wait, what? Who does that? Why would you throw away an outfit you paid REAL money for away? To say nothing of why you would even buy it in the first place just to use for a short time and then never look at again?Quote:
