Glamour Dresser and job switches
Having returned to FFXIV since last patch of HW, I was thankful for the many small changes that each made a big impact.
What made my life as a collector much easier; the inventory expansions and glamour dresser.
Finally I have the space to hold all the tank(PLD) gear I have collected since ARR.
With this glamour plate addition I feel another glamour problem needs to be tackled.. class specific gear, and gear that is used by multiple classes.
I love to switch between the 3 tank jobs, as they each come with such a different playstyle.
However, my PLD has PLD only gear from PVP, so does my DRK, if I were to change jobs, it would show the -less favourable- unglamoured gear.
What I would like to see is the option to apply a glamour to armor that changes along with your job.
ex: Augmented Shire Custodian's Chestplate:
>PLD: Lionsiege Cuirass (PLD)
>DRK: Armor of the Behemoth King (DRK)
>WAR: Titanium Cuirass of Fending (PLD DRK WAR)
pt2 (1000 length is short)
Knowing this could become a mess of code to get right, I don't think relying on glamour plates is a viable option. Instead I'd love to have specific glamour slots for each piece where (if the job is unlocked) a slot opens up on the armor piece for all possible jobs.
This would not have to seem any different from any glamour options we have now.
Perhaps a "Glamour master" and a "Glamour minor" option can be sufficient,
where master overrides any job (current behaviour),
and minor overrides it only on the job currently active.
What do you think? :)
TL;DR:
Allow players to glamour the same armor piece differently on multiple jobs,
allowing the gear to switch based on their job.
