In an attempt to stave of a 20 page thread arguing about defining "beta." I'll add that we're playing the XIV rebeta as the team works toward 2.0.

We dont have de 2.0 UI, maps, etc...so

As you can read on "The Road to Version 2.0" from FFXIV 2.0 Outline, both version 2.0 software for PC and PlayStation©3 system beta version are planned for being distributed by September to October 2012, then they will reinstate limited free trial period for PC version.
That's your 2.0 Beta, I guess.
