Large Scale Area Battlefields

So I've enjoyed my stay in Eureka, and hope to enjoy many more adventures there as I collect gear.

Playing Eureka sort of brought homage to a system I'd love to see added in FFXIV: [What brought this was yeah the Fate Trains, and seeing all of us gathering together to defeat a foe.]

What Would a Siege Stronghold Battle Consist of?

Enemies attacking points on a map to gain control, this would add a new layer to the Continent of Eorzea and bring people back to the older zones.

Control: Each Grand Company of the three major Cities have Strongholds scattered throughout the older zones that must be protected from invasions.

All National Alliances can participate with one another's Siege Stronghold Battles, bringing parties together for the good of each nation; and bringing home loot to tag along with it!

-This will bring a Campaign System into the game, a good visual example of this is:
Wings of the Goddess battlefields within zones and adding the insanity of Besieged.

Now adding a Token System, where when participating in a an area battle, you'll gain these tokens to trade for fun Nation Themed armor, or crafting materials, etc. and have the armor be up to par with Relic / Tomestones, to give people incentives to do these battlefields.

how about adding tasks for DoL and DoH such as building barriers/fortifications and collecting supplies as well to go with it? just a little pipe dream I have to see these classes have the option of going more 'Active'

this is just hamlet defense all over again.

I'd be fine with this.

Don't see an issue with them modernizing a good idea from 1.0 (Hamlet defense)
