So, my server is dead during content droughts, like many others I'm sure. Do any of you have recommendation on servers which maintain a sizeable player-base even during these times?
Aside from Balmung, given it is locked.... probably forever.

You can transfer now >.> it has been re opened unless it has been closed recently. Adamantoise I hear is good.
Balmung has been locked again since early Marchish. The unlock lasted for about 2-3 weeks, mainly because we got a ton of new bots. That said I'd suggest Leviathan more than likely, as far as I know they are the 2nd largest NA server, though that will mean going to a different Data Center if you still have people on Cactuar you want to play with cross server.
Could I leech off this thread and ask for recommendations for a server with people playing around GMT+10 evenings?
I initially joined Tonberry years ago when it was the unofficial server for Australians. Ever since the cross world improvements though, content has naturally contained many more non-English typing players from across the entire data centre. Being a "solo" player who relies heavily on the DF and PF, I'm starting to think about changing servers.
Does anyone have a recommendation?
Provided you can deal with the potential ping mishaps, European servers (Chaos datacentre) might be a good shout. Since 5pm your time would be 7am here in the UK, so while it would be the "Early Morning Crew", it could work for you. Expect a mix of English, French, and German though (but primarily English).
Most servers will feel dead on content drought though.
