I'm looking to change servers soon as the server I'm in now(Goblin) while not dead is a bit smaller then what I was hoping for. I've decided between either Behemoth or Cactuar but not sure which to pick. My friend is also going to be transferring with me. We are hoping to find some groups for raiding, an overall larger server population, and just some random fun. What server do you think would be best between to two?
I transferred to Cactuar for a little bit and compared to Behemoth it was very quiet. No idea what the raiding scene is like on Aether though.
Behemoth doesn't have me so I'm biased towards Cactuar. :/
(If you'd like you can join my FC on Cactuar, Kingsglaive. We're a pretty casual FC and we try to get together to run content every so often but time zones and school are mean. I think a lot of us are busy with school/take a break since we're winding down on the patch and there's not much else to do.)
Cactuar has a pretty great hunting community. Raiding it doesn't matter a ton what server you're on, as these days that can really be done via cross world statics. So it's all about the data center.
Cactuar is on the Aether Datacenter.. i.e. has access to Gilgamesh, Balmung, and Sargatanas. It should have *more* raiding options available to you.
Quality of the raid scene is probably the same, but the sheer numbers would probably make it easier on Aether.
Higher population also generally translates to cheaper market board prices.. which also makes it somewhat easier to raid.
It is also customary on Cactuar during hunts that you ask about Pazuzu or Ixion weather whenever you get the chance, which actually reminds me....IS THIS IXION WEATHER!?
Behemoth player here. Server has many small casual communities that add up making the server to be quite fairly populated. Raiding scenario on the server isn't very strong but Primal DC is fine.
Pretty much what raffydturtle said, there will be more avaliability of raid parties but quality won't be much different between Datacenters unless you've contacts.
