I don't know if it was mentioned in a thread before.
Figured that a neat idea for an event to feature a boss fight from previous FF titles on their respective launch date. Maybe something how Dissidia linked all the games into a common realm sort of thing or even a section in crystal tower when it comes around.
I wouldn't know what kind of rewards would come of it. Maybe a unique item/accessory from that game that was popular. Green Cherry from FFVI that would turn you into a Kappa(maybe a bad example?)
I think it would be interesting, challenging, and fun to see how SE could translate those fights into the games current fight mechanics.
Any thoughts?

Yes, it's already been asked some months ago. Personally, previous "named" bosses haven't place outside their universe or games like dissidia or kingdom hearts.
While they can clone garland in form of a imperial legatus, other bosses are quite out of place -

The heavy armor clad boss theme has been on other FF titles. It wouldn't have to be necessarily only bosses from a game. It could also include a team from that series. Granted none of the fights would fit into the FFXIV universe, it's not supposed to.
Personally, I'd rather do a 2-3 day anniversary battle event than spend 5 minutes to get a silly hat. Besides that, It would be awesome to see a boss revamped in modern graphics. -
