Machinist Stat Weights
Does anyone know the actual numerical stat weights for MCH for the current expansion/patch? I’m looking at replacing my tome gear with the Eureka gear thanks to the penta-melding, but I lose 54 dex doing so. I’ll get massive boosts to direct hit, crit, and determination in exchange, (255, 215, 182 respectively) but I have no idea if that’s worth the dex loss.

All theorycrafters have stopped using stat weights because they're dynamic and change depending on the stat totals. You can try comparing sets with my gear comparison sheet found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
Just note that the numbers are only accurate within certain skill speed limits (647 sks or less for 2 ammo variants / 1048 sks or less for 3 ammo variants).
As a general rule you want to favor: weapon damage > dex > crit > dh > det > sks. None of the Eureka pieces are better than the ilvl 370 gear but can be good stepping stones while gearing up.

We made the decision to move on from stat weights in favour of the formulae we now know because of how stat weights were mishandled in the past and the fact that they only represent a static snapshot of one specific combination of gear/melds. They are not correct for all cases and it's possible to skew stat weights in such a way to make any stat the best stat (largely because of their breakpoints).
As such your question can't be accurately answered without knowing your current player stats because of how they tier.
What can be done however is if you provide your stats as they are and your stats as they would become (rather than just what the differences are) we can do a more direct comparison and figure out if it is worth it for overall damage potential.
Edit: Or use Lynn's gear sheet to compare \o/

Ah, that makes a bit more sense now. Here're the stats I have at the moment (I'm currently wearing tome gear for the left side sans gun and waist, all Sigmascape gear plus tome ring on the right, and the sigmascape waist, and currently have the Byakko gun):
Current: With Eureka Gear:
Dex: 2706 2652
Crit: 1758 2013
Direct: 1352 1567
Det: 1402 1584
Spd: 1266 1147
For melding, what I do is meld as much as I can into the stats in the order I've found in a few guides: Crit>Dir>Det>Speed. As for rotations...well, I don't do the high level raiding, just some Primal Ex farming with some friends so I've never really dealt into the "official" rotations, primarily because the charts I've found are really, really daunting to me...
Thanks for the help though, I really appreciate it!

uhm asking for stats to maximize dmg but not being interested in a proper rotation doesn’t make any sense at all... learning skillprio and uptime will increase your dps way more than any stats could do... : /

I didn’t say I wasn’t interested in learning/using the raid rotations, I just haven’t had a real need to. I’ve been wanting to improve for a while now, but when I look up rotations on places like Moogle Post I have no idea what they’re trying to say, nor can I wrap my head around these massive chains of skills that I have no idea how to map onto my controller in a way that makes sense. That’s why I’m here, to get help in figuring out what I need to do to improve.

Ok, after figuring out how to use that google sheet, looks like I need to use the high ping 3 ammo roatation. I only needed to rework 3 melds on my gear to max out materia according to the priority list suggested (wd, dex, crit, direct, det, speed). I am now sitting at the following stats:
WD - 101, Dex - 2816, Crit - 1936, Dir - 1634, Det - 1064, Spd - 1196. (This was accomplished with the eureka gun, full tome gear, and a sigmascape NM ring). Now to undo years worth of muscle memory and try to figure out how to layout the rotation on my controller bar...
