Would you give up a large personal for your small FC?

I realise this is a rather contiversal subject.

I privately own a large personal house. I'm in a rather small FC (less than 8 people active during EU prime.

Odds are my FC leader may see this but I want to put this out there, i mean no harm by sharing this, I want however is people opinion on a subject like this.

To give some context to the situation. (See in-game conversation bottom of this post).

Not long ago (3-4 weeks or so) i made a new character on a preffered server. I'm a omnicrafter on a dead server. I transfered an alt with some of my gil and went ahead and made a new character.

I worked to rank up and level to 50 and went ahead and bought myself a large house in the goblet. With the idea I'll wait 45 days to transfer my main with my housing items and rest of my gil.

Back to today, I was approached out of the blue from the FC leader (which i barely have any interactions with) basicly asking (I took it like trying to guilt trip me) to give up or downgrade my personal large to favor of the FC and get a medium in shirogane (bear in mind, I have a house on my main character in Shirogane and I have it).

A few days ago 2 smalls opened up due to auto demo i assume and i let my FC know there was a couple small houses available and the FC and his main officer (right hand if you will) bought these as personal houses, they then found out i owned a large (I guess they then examined my placard).

So here I am, in a FC but FC leader ask me now to give up or downgrade to a medium sized house.

What is people thoughts on a subject like this? I know a lot of people disliked inviduals like myself with the funds to buy a personal large but imho its fair game with the current system from Yoshida.

If what you say is true about the number of active members I'd say nah I wouldn't give it up. If it was something like 50 active members I'd give it more consideration. There's other factors of course; do they regularly hold meetings in person? Is it an rp FC? Do they actually let everyone use the garden?

And I agree they do seem kinda of guilt trippy.

- Right now (its only mid-day here) its 4 members including myself online (3 people afk).
- Never seen they hold meetings at all.

Id leave if someone did that to me.

I find it insulting to be asked such a thing...politely or not.
Your leader is panhandling and should learn to be more humble.

But that's just me.
I'd never ask a member to give up a home...if they want one that bad..they should work for it...he wants to abuse the relocation mechanic to dodge the RNG timer.

No offense if your leader ends up finding this..but sorry...that's just wrong..you worked hard to get that house...only to be nudged to give it up....that's a line i wouldn't cross as a FC leader myself.

Yeah nah they can stay in their medium until another large opens up if they want one so bad.

Would depend how much I trusted the FC in question and the availability of housing on the server. Also depends on how much I would want to keep my house but you're just waiting for demo. So I don't know lol but you say you have minimum interactions with them yeah? How'd they know you own a large? I don't really like the tone I'm perceiving from your leader from the text but tone is lost in text so again I don't know.

I forgot to add this to the story.

I don't know how close you are to the FC, but you worked for your house, don't feel like you have to give it up, you earned it, I wouldn't give up a large for a medium.

What? I understand wanting a bigger house for gardening purposes but that feels kind of manipulative, a medium is more than enough for a small FC, hell on my old server, we had a good dozen or so people hanging in our yard and that was a small.

If you don't want to then I'd just say no and think no more about it. It's nobody else's business if you've saved up to own a large house. I think the leader of the fc was just trying you first in case you were going to sell rather than starting the search. Weird that they went to look tho imo. I've been in a few fcs that have upgraded from small houses where we had crazy parties, to large, which never felt the same and the parties never happened.

How was that guilt trippy? Am I being blind or something. lol They asked and presented why they want a larger FC. Even if I don't agree with their reasons myself, they considered yours as likely having bigger chances to get a large and mentioned they are ok if you decline. Now if they keep asking to give it, I'd agree being manipulative and suggested you leave the FC.

Back to the situation - no I wouldn't give the large for the reasons you stated. You had a plan to move your main, you have an idea you want to do with this plot, end of story. It's not selfish, it's your own gil and your own time spent earning them. But I see nothing bad in the FC leader asking either.
