Title says it all.
Eureka could be so much better if the content wasn't gated before the 1st protean crystal, I''ve grinded up to elemental level 10 and haven't gotten any.
Thank you.

You just fight enemies at your level or higher, generating a chain bonus which makes protean acquisition more likely. At starting level we got our first protean right away at Squib Sands. Since you are level 10, just solo a chain of lv10 enemies like Val Bears or something until a protean pops.
I did grind up to lvl 4 with Mobs, I after that I figured that maybe if I did fates (NMs) I would get some, but I still havent gotten one. I found out too late that the best way to do it is to push the chain to 30. Unfortunately, the mobs my level are too strong for me to take with 1 Magica (as the rest are gated trough the 1st quest) so my only recourse here is follow the train until they get to a low level NM and pull as many monsters as I can to the train so the zerg kills them while everyone is synced.
Just like the Level 3, 5, 13, and 17 quests typically go, the fault lies on the player. You didn't read how to obtain it when the game told you, nor did you look it up it seems. I got my first Protean Crystal when I was level 1, solo chaining mobs right outside the gate. I believe it was somewhere in the 20's during my chain. Either way this is a non-issue compared to all the other massive ones that Eureka has.
From what I remember, the game just tells you to kill stuff. Not exactly much to read.
Good for you. I had multiple chains in the 20s when I did the first few levels, and didn't get any. After that, I started running NMs with friends, and got to lvl 10. Even then, it took a few chains in the high 20s for me to get one.Quote:

That's exactly why it's a non-issue, because the fix is that ridiculously simple. Additionally, the reason it's a non-issue is because it doesn't seem to happen to that many players, only the rather unlucky ones. Either way I do agree that it either shouldn't be a requirement or that they allow players to turn in Anemos Crystals to obtain them prior to the quest completion.
